HILLARY MUST NOT accept the VP slot. If she is on the ticket as VP, they are only trying to use her. If she is a VP they will use her to do the work and they will take the credit. If she is a VP she can not run again in 2012.

Interesting how "Obama paid $300,000 less than the asking price" is taken out of context as if somehow he had managed to cheat the owner. What actually happened was that Obama submitted a bid that was $300,000 less than the asking price, a very common and legal activity, and the owner accepted.

The Clintons, to adapt a line from Dr. Johnson, were not only corrupt, they were the cause of corruption in others. Yet seldom in America have so many come to excuse so much mendacity and malfeasance as during the Clinton years. Here are some of the facts that have been buried.

RECORDS SET

- The only president ever impeached on grounds of personal malfeasance
- Most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates*
- Most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation
- Most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify
- Most number of witnesses to die suddenly
- First president sued for sexual harassment.
- Second president accused of rape**
- First first lady to come under criminal investigation
- Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign contribution case
- First president to establish a legal defense fund.
- First president to be held in contempt of court
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions from abroad
- First president disbarred from the US Supreme Court and a state court

* According to our best information, 40 government officials were indicted or convicted in the wake of Watergate. A reader computes that there was a total of 31 Reagan era convictions, including 14 because of Iran-Contra and 16 in the Department of Housing & Urban Development scandal. 47 individuals and businesses associated with the Clinton machine were convicted of or pleaded guilty to crimes with 33 of these occurring during the Clinton administration itself. There were in addition 61 indictments or misdemeanor charges. 14 persons were imprisoned. A key difference between the Clinton story and earlier ones was the number of criminals with whom he was associated before entering the White House.

Using a far looser standard that included resignations, David R. Simon and D. Stanley Eitzen in Elite Deviance, say that 138 appointees of the Reagan administration either resigned under an ethical cloud or were criminally indicted. Curiously Haynes Johnson uses the same figure but with a different standard in "Sleep-Walking Through History: America in the Reagan Years: "By the end of his term, 138 administration officials had been convicted, had been indicted, or had been the subject of official investigations for official misconduct and/or criminal violations. In terms of number of officials involved, the record of his administration was the worst ever."

**Selene Walter accused Ronald Reagan of rape 39 years after the alleged assault in the 1950s. No further information is available on this case. The Juanita Broaddrick case involving Bill Clinton was investigated by the congressional impeachment counsel. According to counsel David Shippers those conducting the interview "have assured me that she is the most credible witness that either one of them have ever talked to"

CAMPAIGN FINANCE INVESTIGATION

- As of June 2000, the Justice Department listed 25 people indicted and 19 convicted because of the 1996 Clinton-Gore fundraising scandals.
- According to the House Committee on Government Reform in September 2000, 79 House and Senate witnesses asserted the Fifth Amendment in the course of investigations into Gore's last fundraising campaign.
-James Riady entered a plea agreement to pay an $8.5 million fine for campaign finance crimes. This was a record under campaign finance laws.

As to Rezko and the Clinton's. This is the same thing she said about Peter Paul too - and there's a lot of video of them yucking it up together at small fundraising gatherings.

It's a pattern.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: 2 weeks ago I was a Clinton admirer and excited about the race no matter who our nominee was. But, now the Clinton's have totally turned me off to them. Why? Because of their duplicity in making false accusations about another Democratic candidate to smear him and the facts that they've actually done what they falsely accused Obama of doing.

It is still not too late to change course! We need some clear-headed thinking if we democrats are going to win the general election. Barack Obama has little to no experience to qualify him for the presidency. Realistically, with his limited experience, would he have much of a chance of being selected as a CEO of a major American corporation? Why then, with this limited experience, do some think he is qualified to be President of the nation? Do we demand less experience of the President of the nation than a CEO of one of the nation's business entities? Or do we think that on-the-job training will somehow prepare him for the position within a few months of taking office?

By attempting to make this major leap from a first term senator to the presidency, Barack is stretching the political envelope too strenuously and too fast. Failure will set the clock back on the political aspirations of black Americans for generations. It is a big big gamble! Barack should settle this time around for the vice presidency or some major position in a democratic administration, and when he has demonstrated his skills and grown in political wisdom and stature, he will be better prepared to serve his country as President and Commander in Chief.

As of now, it seems to me that most voters, when the chips are on the table in the November elections, will not select Barack Obama. Most voters will see it as too big a gamble, too great a risk. They will opt for the lesser of two evils and cast their lot with a grey-haired known entity rather than an untried and unknown entity no matter how well spoken. Democrats and super-delegates must take a long hard look at this probability and act in the best interest of all Americans.
