Dems Win Another: GOP Sounds Distress Call
For the third time this election season, the Democrats have stolen a House seat from their Republican counterparts. This time, it happened in Mississippi, where Travis Childers beat Greg Davis to send a Democrat to the U.S. House of Representatives for the first time since 1994. Bush easily carried this district in 2000 and 2004, but that was before his popularity numbers plummeted. Davis and the RNCC had run negative ads featuring the Reverend Wright and Barack Obama in an attempt to solidify white support. For the second time this year, the tactic failed.
In the towering wake of yet another defeat in a contest in which the GOP poured a great deal of resources, NRCC chairman Tom Cole fired off an S.O.S. to any Republicans who'll listen:
"...the political environment is such that voters remain pessimistic about the direction of the country and the Republican Party in general. Therefore, Republicans must undertake bold efforts to define a forward looking agenda that offers the kind of positive change voters are looking for."
In other words, the GOP needs to re-invent itself. Come up with some catchy, forward-looking buzzwords. Maybe even tinker with a proposal or two. All that negative change just isn't working out. Go figure.
UPDATE: You just can't make this stuff up. What has the Republican brain-trust decided on for a new slogan?
"The Change You Deserve."
Aside from being strikingly similar to Obama's "Change You Can Believe In," the funny thing about the GOP's new slogan is that it was already adopted by Wyeth Pharmaceuticals for their anti-anxiety drug Effexor. Perhaps the GOP can kill two birds with one stone on this one. Pass out Effexor to all their candidates up for re-election, and borrow the slogan as well. Wyeth makes out like bandits and everybody's happy! Or at least until the drug wears off, anyway.

Yipes! Three in a row for the Democrats in special elections, and in GOP-leaning parts of the country. Well, at least if McCain wins in November, the Congress will stay in Democrats hands.
No wonder the Republican minority leader of the house, John Boehner, has been so pissed off lately. You would be too...

Well I would say this makes Clinton's point moot...The democrat won in a conservative area despite ads attacking Obama about Jeremiah Wright. She better hang it up now she is done. A scorned woman..with no hope left.

George W. Bush has been successful in accomplishing one thing... uniting the country against the Republican Party. For that, we thank him.

Obama 1,880 delegates to Clinton's 1,718. Six more for Obama in WV added 6 delegates to his existing hefty score of delegates. Thus, as it now stands, Obama only needs 145 to become the nominee. Two hours after the contest in WV, Obama picked up 2 more Superdelegates.
Wednesday he picked up two more superdelegates: Rep. Peter Visclosky of Indiana and Democrats Abroad chair Christine Schon Marques.
Picked up three former Securities and Exchange Commission chairmen — William Donaldson, David Ruder, and Arthur Levitt Jr., who was appointed by former President Clinton. The campaign released a joint statement by the former SEC chiefs, well as former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker, that praised Obama's "positive leadership and judgment" on economic issues.
"We are aware of the reasoned approach Mr. Obama has taken in analyzing the current financial crisis and the need for balanced regulatory reform," the statement said. "We believe that such a constructive approach can be extended broadly in the economic area as well as elsewhere."

You would have to be NUTZ to vote Republican after the last 7 years! Take the Republican litmus test that good old Regan made famous.
Is the country better off today then it was 4 years ago? Nope!
7 years ago? Nope!
Are at an all time low for this country? Yep!
Enough said...
And the buck stops at the GOP door steps...

-And we are not safer - it's just easier for a poor terrorist to travel to Iraq or Afghanastan to hurt American's, until we leave, then they will follow us here!
-Terrorisim has increased not declined

"OBAMA" AND "CHANGE!" (WHATEVER!!!!!!!!)
RACISM? Whatever. I don't see a black man. I see the (TWO) WHITE MEN STANDING BEHIND Obama. They worry me, not Obama.
Look behind Obama Look to the right....
Do you see Kennedy?
Look to the left.....
Do you see Kerry?
You want to talk change?
*I see a political puppet pushed to the forefront, but hidden from the"spotlight" lies the "old school."
*Obama is a forefront for the same old "Democrat Party." I am not manipulated by words. I see a black man in a suit. I see a deception. I see race hiding the true agenda.
*Obama is a "political puppet" and the puppeteers are hidden behind the curtain. I DON'T WANT A "PUPPET SHOW" IN THE OVAL OFFICE. I don't want Kennedy or Kerry running things!
*SO I have heard Hillary is the old? No. Kerry and Kennedy can't puppeteer Hillary. So they don't want her! And they are calling her the old? Whatever.
*So what changes with Obama? Can someone tell me?
I just don't see Obama, I am looking behind the curtain!!!!
No Puppet. Never.

WHO IS THIS IDIOT? OBAMA SAYS HE'S VISITED 57 STATES! IF YOU ADD FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN --- THAT MAKES 59! WHERE ARE ALL THESE NEW STATES?
Watch closely --- more superdelegates will be “BOUGHT AND PAID FOR” BY OBAMA. THEY WANT THE MONEY HE HAS COLLECTED FROM HIS ANTI-AMERICAN, TERRORIST FRIENDS AND CONTRIBUTORS!
SUPERDELEGATES ARE ROBBING US OF OUR DEMOCRACY --- OUR RIGHT TO CHOSE THE CANDIDATE WE WANT.
Superdelegates = the end of democracy!

At one time the media was on the side of the American citizens. NOW --- they have their own agenda. They have been fed so much propaganda, that the media doesn't know right from wrong any more --- and they apparently don’t care.
Hillary has been beaten up constantly by the media in this election and Obama has been given a free ride.
After Obama is the nominee, the media will be wishing the experienced candidate was back in the race.
I am as sick of the media as I am of the lying, hypocritical big-wig democrats who are destroying our country (Pelosi, Dean, Reid, Kennedy, Kerry, to name a few). Then we have the evil Obama camp: Wright, Ayers, Malcolm X, Farrakhan, Hamas, Rezko and the anti-American “wife”! These two groups have destroyed the Democratic Party and now they will destroy America. Remember 9/11?
Hopefully, Hillary will come out of this race with a better understanding of this thing called "Democrats". It's not pretty --- and to believe that the democrats want to do exactly what they were screaming about in 2000, is UNBELIEVABLE! It made more sense then, because they were fighting Republicans. NOW, they’re fighting the best Democratic candidate???
In 2000, the democrats wanted ALL THE VOTES to count. NOW, they come up with some cockamamie rule that people's votes in Florida and Michigan will not count. Give me a break --- this country has gone completely STUPID.
HILLARY OR McCAIN 2008!

THIS IS FOR THE PEOPLE OF OREGON WHO ARE VOTING FOR THIS CLOWN.
So what does Obama do when he has no plan? He makes up a snazzy title for the pamphlet he delivers to homes.
CHANGE OREGON CAN BELIEVE IN:
“Barack Obama will reinvigorate the drinking water standards that have been weakened under the Bush administration and update them to address new threats. He will help communities by restoring better federal financing for water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, and he will continue his leadership in protecting national treasures like the Great Lakes from threats such as industrial pollution, water diversion, and invasive species. Obama will establish policies to help high-growth regions with the challenges of managing their water supplies.”
GREAT LAKES IN OREGON?
HE’S VISITED 57 STATES?
WHO IS THIS OBAMA?
WHAT COUNTRY IS HE RUNNING IN?

Interesting that in the early days of 2007 as most people were not really thinking much of this race to the presidency, a film came out in late 2005-6 called "Lady in the Water", which was very strange, and yet, compelling to animal lovers and liberals. It is a movie that tells of monsters and how the world has lost their perspective of the total world, where somewhere live other beings who help us from time to time. It predicts a new Leader of the land-dwellers who will bring significant changes to the world. A leader of change, from one who writes a book about change. Now, E. Night S. may not have meant it to typify the candidacy of one Barak Obama, but it appears it was a subliminal message reflected in his immediate rise in popularity about the same time when the film was made into DVDs. Is it possible that Hollywood was subliminally urging the Coastal people who are usually democratic and who like water films, and who like mysticism, and who want change, to be affected by such a slick method? Naw, it was his "Compelling Oratory performances"! Bull! You were brainwashed and you didn't even know it! Don't blame the poor whites, the undereducated, the staunch Republicans, the racist masses, blame your own, for brainwashing you with the biggest con ever performed by some Hollywood professionals. And the nicest thing was that it didn't even mention race, just the slogan that BO uses! Cool huh? Better look up that movie now, Eh? Of course, I saw through it 3 years ago, but to undereducated and poor people, maybe they just now are seeing that film, since before they couldn't afford it! So go Hillary, fight McCain in November! Chances are the change will happen, even if one of them wins. Sincerely, Gregor S.
