MSNBC Analyst Has a Meltdown
Patrick J. Buchanan, MSNBC's Senior Political Analyst, author and all-around "save the white race from annihilation and extinction" advocate comes closer and closer to losing it completely.
Buchanan, whom I had profiled in some detail here, has turned into the white man's foil during this primary season on MSNBC. Always quick to point out the problems with Obama's capture of the lunch bucket crowd and how he can't get out the white vote, Buchanan has warmed to Senator Clinton for becoming the "everyman" that he feels is necessary to capture the race for the Dems. The more Obama wins, the more agitated Buchanan becomes.
I'll set up the video below as I had seen the whole thing live and this clip, while great, does not capture what set Pat off.
This immediately followed John Edwards' endorsement of Obama last night. The subject of conversation with Pat, Matthews and Andrea Mitchell was if anyone thought that Edwards would help Obama capture the working-class white vote. The exit polling on race as a basis for voting in WV was astounding. When asked if race was an important factor for their candidate of choice, Clinton voters answered 85% that race was an important factor - far higher than any primary before.
As you'll see, Pat tries to blame Chris Matthews and others in the media for calling WV (and other white voters) dumb, poor and racist by virtue of reporting the exit polling results. Credit where credit is due, Matthews does a great job batting back Pat. From the beginning of this race, Pat has tried to frame Obama as the "black" candidate who cannot win.
I fear that Buchanan will be reporting in a straight jacket before November.
It's a long clip, but worth the watch for those of you who are following race factors in this campaign.

right on pat buchanan.....tell everyone the truth and pmsnbc cant stand it. there is a race problem with obama and he started it. he has played the race card for months and wv showed him he is not special. when blacks show their racism by voting for obama by 90%, its not racism ? oh, hell no.....why dont you run one of your stupid aol polls and then see what people think about having obama rammed down our throats and if we dont like him, we must be racists....i dont like him, and i will never vote for him, i must be a racist, too bad.

Pat Buchanan just represents the millions of Hillary diehards. They are all losing their s*.
85% said race was an important factor! Holy Cow!! They really are racist folk! I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but jeez!
This is getting so ugly.

I have decided since I'm a racist (oh didn't you know, anybody who does not support Barack Obama is a racist) that it's okay to call anybody who does not support Hillary Clinton a misogynist.
If you are a man then you are a woman beater and probably a pimp.
If you are a woman you are a self hater and probably cut yourself bullimic slut.
There is no argument about this. If you tell me you really are not a woman hater I will just tell you to look deep in your heart and soul...are you sure...really sure?
I will continue to watch those woman bashing newspeople have their nightly "meltdowns" on air every day and night.
Poor Denise Williams, she hates herself so much. She had a real meltdown with this blog. Get help Denise...get help.

In Philadelphia Pennsylvania 92% of the black vote went to Barack Obama. All 92% felt race was an important factor in their decision. "Astounding."

good point!

You can't ignore Pat's record of shame on TV. He was one of the hosts of Crossfire. They used the symbol of the Well. He was on Tucker's show often when Tucker tried to use code to discuss race. Pat has an agenda, but is that America will embrace or reject?
reality11:18AMMay 15th 2008
This is exactly what the general election will center around RACE. Every time anyone criticizes or disagrees with Obama they are labeled "racist" and it has become pathetic. The democrats have become completly obsessed with race, when the race issues lie within there own party. You have two democrats in the race one is white one is black. The black voters have voted for Obama by over 90%. But it not about race right? Thank you black America for showing us where your "preference" lies, and dont use the old justification that "Obama is the better candidate".

sillyme...I am sure Pat Buchannan would love being called a "Hillary diehard". He has been one of her husband's harshest critics.
Now anybody who dares to speak a negative about Barack is a "hillary diehard"?
This Obamainsanity is just through the roof! No one can say anything!
I really understand how communist dictators have taken control of populations. Don't you dare say anything negative about "HIM". What happens if you do? What will they do AFTER he's president? Will they make sure we are all nice to Barack?
I wish I were kidding.

THANK YOU, PAT FOR GIVING IT TO THEM.

ThoreauIII wrote: "Obama also said he will declare victory when he has the majority of pledged delegates. That will probably come next Tuesday." It will be the most hollow and plastic of victories, orchestrated by the DNC and Ted Kennedy. What is truly remarkable and facinating, which history books will illuminate, is the coalition of support Sen. Clinton has gathered. They are tenaciously loyal, diverse in scope, and often freed from the slavery of tyrannical party leadership. In one fell swoop, she has made her and her coalition one of the strongest piece of democracy and the political process. You got to admire the lady for that. Here's the fact. Obama cannot win without the Hill supporters. McCain cannot win without the Hill supporters. She is a "kingmaker". In reality, her voice will be listened more aptly by media, Congress, and the White House than any other politico voice.”
Astoundingly good comment and very, very true. Why should she run as VP when she is more powerful as a Senator and the voice of change? She and her supporters are in a very enviable position.
Obama can get his African American and liberal votes – but unable to impact a race without the Hill supporters – and notable concessions to their demands. Likewise, McCain faces a similar problem.
Interesting…very interesting.
TJ11:42AMMay 15th 2008
CHRIS MATHEWS HAS BEEN VIGOROUSLY PROMOTING THE IDEA THAT THE CLINTONS ARE RACIST. IF THIS IS HOW AFRICAN AMERICANS TREAT THEIR FRIENDS , WHY WOULD ANYONE BE SUPPORTING BLACKS TOMORROW AFTER OBAMA FALLS FLAT ON HIS FACE..I WILL VOTE RICE AND POWELL, NOT OBAMA.. I DO BELEIVE JEREMIAH WRIGHT THAT OBAMA IS RACIST. I ALSO BELIEVE HE IS ARROGANT AND ELITIST. IF HE HAD NOT BEEN BLACK, OBAMA WOULD NEVER HAVE MADE IT THIS FAR.I THINK HE BENEFITTED FROM SOME MISGUIDED WHITE MEN PREFERING ANY MALE TO A WOMAN. THEN THEY FIND OUT THE REAL OBAMA AND THEY CANT TAKE THEIR VOTES BACK-I GOT FAMILY MEMBERS LIKE THAT. THEY HATE OBAMA NOW THEY KNOW HIM...THEY ALREADY VOTED, THOUGH

That doesn't make him any less of a Diehard for Hillary.
Now anybody who dares to speak a negative about Barack is a "hillary diehard"?

No, as a matter of fact I applauded you for injecting a bit of humor about it.
By Hillary Diehard I mean those who will only vote for Hillary. No Obama/Hillary ticket, unless Hillary is nominated, they will vote McCain. That to me, is a Hillary Diehard.
Now, I voted for her in the primaries, that is how I showed her my support. But I am stepping off this sinking ship and moving on to support the nominee. I am trying to educate myself on him, with facts not pins.
I am a democrat and since my tunnel vision with Hillary has lifted, and the will of the people are for Barack, My democratic heart will vote for Barack.
SamTexas11:49AMMay 15th 2008
I love how Matthews tries to interrupt Pat and throw him off track, it worked a few times, though Pat got his point across. Obama is flawed and as a Democrat, I am ashamed to be represented by this candidate. This is a double standard and anytime any of us do not agree with Obama we are racist and out of touch and don't want change and have no hope and are divisive and all that labels they come up with. This is pathetic.
Susan Nation11:50AMMay 15th 2008
Excuse me, Chris Mathews did trash the white population of West Virginia. Just like Obama trashed the white working class by calling them bitter and reaching for their guns and bibles.
Wow - Mathew and Buchanan are both nuts.
This is not about race - it is about culture.

How can you educate yourself about Obama there is nothing to get educated on...empty suit

The Nazi lover speaks...doesnt he know that minorities as a whole fight and die for this country more than others since Vietnam. This is a scared White supremecists view of the election. Obama is the bes6t choice to put these type of idiots to rest.
