Dole Gets Dander Up
Politico has obtained an e-mail sent yesterday from Bob Dole to Scott McClellan. Dole empties both barrels at McClellan, calling him, among other things, a "miserable creature."
The former senator and presidential candidate isn't generally known as a firebrand politician, although he has come under fire for his temper before in the press. When he gets fired up, he gets fired up. He has a reputation for sharp wit, and as Jonathan Martin notes, he was in rare form in the e-ssault. Here's an excerpt from Politico:
"In my nearly 36 years of public service I've known of a few like you," Dole writes, recounting his years representing Kansas in the House and Senate. "No doubt you will 'clean up' as the liberal anti-Bush press will promote your belated concerns with wild enthusiasm. When the money starts rolling in you should donate it to a worthy cause, something like, 'Biting The Hand That Fed Me.' Another thought is to weasel your way back into the White House if a Democrat is elected. That would provide a good set up for a second book deal in a few years"
As Bob Dole himself might say "Bob Dole doesn't like you, Scott McClellan." Not. Even. A little.

Bob Dole is entitled to his position and of course McClellan will take flak for his book and financial windfall. It is a timeless rite for these smarmy clowns to cash in on their insider experiences. Is it true we all were lied to? It looks like it. As for Bob Dole and his nap, only after his Viagra wears off.

I find it humorous that, with all this backlash against McClellen....not a single soul has said what he wrote in his book was not true.
All this press about how he betrayed them all.....not one iota of arguement against the actual facts he wrote.
Very, very interesting.

Strados, you are right on. Bush would have hemmoraged if the Val Plame issue was untrue. He lied and deceived the nation and world. And the whole media propaganda with retired military, who are the unpatriotic ones.

The thing that bothers me is that they do not repudiate the issues that McClellan speaks of in his book. They just attack make personal attacks on him.

BOOB DOLE ??? LMAO, WHAT A CLOWN, DID ANYONE, YET, SAY SCOTT LIED ??? OF COURSE NOT, THATS THE PROBLEM FOR THE GOP, ITS ALL TRUE LOL
Cecil Jones3:07PMMay 30th 2008
Bob Dole must have felt like Scott Mc took a shot at him too? Dole made the Walter Reed story go away without revealing the roots. Scott could be pointing to those roots again? PTSD and military benefits aren't going away anytime soon. Walter Reed's problems came from "Free Blood" for our soldiers. Don Imus got shut down for digging here. The truth always comes out.

Why is everbody so up tight about Scott's book? Everbody knows the Bush people lied about everything that went on. The people that voted for him or helped him cheat to be president should be doing a book on how dumb they are. Bush has pretty much ruined our world. The big question is "Are you better off today?" Ask the hard working people who are losing ther homes, jobs, etc.

Although I haven't read it, from what I've read about it, much of it is probably true. My question to him would be why he didn't let the American public know about it at the time if it was so morally offended by what was going on. I almost forgot all about Bob Dole, lol, but he has a point. The guy was able to live with himself for 8 years while enjoying the perks of the job and now that it's coming to and end he's having a crisis of conscience? Hmmm. I dunno, makes you wonder.

Bob's just jealous that he was not mentioned. Somebody wipe the dust off old Bob and tell him its
time to go to the house. His new script for viagra is
in from Canada.

I am surprised they let obama's catholic preist adopt 3 kids.I thought they were all child molesters,This way he has his own to do the sick things they do to kids.He is just as bad as that nigger that was obamas preacher.God help us if obama becomes our president.

Dole, shut your pie hole! Most Americans already know the Bush White House is full of lying scumbags. McClellan is not telling us anything we didn't already know. Talk about selling out. I lost all respect for you when you as a former presidential candidate began pushing Viagra for the drug companies. LOL!

It is interesting Bob Dole, a member of the "greatest generation", sees through this rehash of far left talking points by a money hungry backstabber for what it is and SAYS SO!!!
No worry about hurt feelings, no politically correctness just calling the kettle black and Bull Sh-- BS.
So democrats can take great comfort while Scott McClellan reads them the same old far left talking points bed time stories from and publishing company owned by none other than George Soros.

I don't agree with much in the Bush years , but.. I agree with Bob Dole's assessment of
Scott McClellan.
Another disgruntled employee situation and a great opportunity to cash in, but he wasn't even smart at that I hear he only got $75,000.??? He sold his soul for 75,000? Talk about burning your proverbial bridges, what's he going to do for the rest of his life? I hope Obama has a spot for him he seems to take in a lot of turn coats.
He should have been man enough to speak up and quit at the time all was to have taken place.
This comes as old news to anyone who has been in the US for the last eight years nothing new in the book, I for one would not buy it half price at a yard sale.

I think McClellan was having trouble
sleeping at night... that is why he wrote the book.
McClellan thinks by telling his story he will some how be redeemed.
Well, I hope it works for him.
I do not think that someone like Cheney has a concious so we will probably not be reading a book from him.
And not Bush either.
roberson3:40PMJun 10th 2008
There sure a lot of disgruntled employees at the White House.
I wonder why that is?
MAYBE THEY HAVE TROUBLE LIVING WITH THEMSELVES.

Well, there is truth in what Dole says. But really who cares about Bob Dole anymore? Dole is an old man who needs to go back to his nap. McClellan can write any book he pleases, it is a free country. And he will have to live with the consequences of it - namely that he threw away any promising future he might have had in the Republican party. And, no, I doubt the Democrats will be chomping at the bit to hire McClellan.
