Gay Group Attacks McCain, Film at 11
The Democratic Party's lapdog, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), a leading LGBT federal lobbying group, is attacking John McCain and helping him secure his political base as Obama's base remains fractured and disillusioned.
The attack video released by HRC is a boring 2 minute narration of HRC's spin on John McCain's record on this particular special interest group's agenda.
But this really isn't about an issue or ideas or even a new generation.
It's about partisanship, winning and power in Washington, D.C.
Like George W. Bush, Barack Obama opposes gay marriage (but thinks that states should make the determination). A small but truthful tidbit avoided by HRC. But hey, accuracy in information is never a lobbying group's responsibility.
Now is the time for all liberal and left-leaning interest group to gather their members and tell them who they're for and who they're against.
Now is not the time for issues or philosophical concerns, let alone a new kind of politics.
Now is the time for the rank-and-file to fall in step and march.
Now is the time for Obama politics (a.k.a., the re-branded old-politics of McGovern, Mondale, Dukakis, Gore and Kerry).
Oy! Wake me when its over.

Social rules and customs change throughout history and continue too do so. Woman no longer can't cut their hair, it used to be Un~Godly to so so for it was their crowning glory. Say what? Woman had to wear head covers in church and high neck dresses with long sleeves and hems at their high~buttoned shoes. Woman didn't work away from home and were to remain subjective to their husbands. Many in the Bible days had hand~maidens whom they layed with, I suspect their wives rejoiced over the break. What this all boils down to is what is is not always what will be. My only objection to gay marriage is that if any society based on remaining a society, they must procreate or their society will cease to be. Also, not sure why God created Adam and Eve as both hetros and failed to add in the third gender, homos. Much debate has went on since as to whether sexual preferance is a choice or genetic. Most studies have concluded it is enviremental, a choice taken for whatever the reason be; could be by introduction or a bad experiance with the opposite gender. However, gay is here to stay. I agree with contractual agreements for business and fiancial reasons but disagree with
marriage contracts. I base that on the fact that it is confusing to small children who are told the two men living next door are married and then having to explain why their own daddy isn't married to daddy and married to mommy instead. I tend to think that a deviation from the norm allowed martital rights only increases the likelihood of small children from hetro familys to follow what they see. Monkey see, monkey do theory. While I have nothing against gays and do think they have a right to live life as they chose as long as it brings no harm to others, there are still many who abhor gays and do them harm. I am against such groups like the radical "In Your Face Washington" was. Live and let live is a good policy. Tough thing for candidates; the gay vote is many. It is a be dammed if you do oppose gay marriage and a be dammed if you don't support gay marriage. I am out on a limb on the issue, can see both sides. What will be, will be.

I really don't understand how some people can just hate everyone and everything.
I adore gays. They are honest, genuine and uninhibited and a heck of a lot of fun.
Still further, they are the best dressers on the face of this earth.
There is room on this earth for everyone.
I think McCain made an oops!!! This is mostly a very affluent group that he has insulted.
My gay friends: Ditch McCain in November and vote Obama.

The ad is over the top, but let's cut to the chase - Republicans have bashed gay people left right and center in order to whip up a frenzy among zealots in the GOP to secure votes. It is not just about gay marrriage. In the 2004 election, there was an unpleasant gay bashing that took place among some in the Republican party. However, four years are very telling. As more and more gays are exposed in the GOP - and more will, to be sure - it leaves them fumbling and bumbling to continue their rant against gays. Every time a Republican candidate goes on an anti-gay crusade, just bring up names like Larry Craig and Mark Foley. And remind them that the vice president's daughter is a lesbian with a partner - at least she does not seem to be ashamed of who she is, no matter what the GOP says. No one in this country - conservative or liberal - is immune to being gay or having gay children or gay relatives of some sort.
