Obama Effectively Clinches Nomination
The AP is reporting that the flood of superdelegates has now put Obama over the top. From their story:
The AP tally was based on public commitments from delegates as well as more than a dozen private commitments. It also included a minimum number of delegates Obama was guaranteed even if he lost both of the final two primaries in South Dakota and Montana later in the day.
So there you have it. History was made today.
All day long a steady stream of superdelegates had been going Obama's way. The Chicago Tribune reported that at least 25 superdelegates were "poised" to endorse Obama after tonight's contests in Montana and South Dakota. 31 pledged delegates will be decided later this evening. Obama is expected to win big in Montana. South Dakota looks like a toss-up.
Even Clinton loyalist Diane Feinstein told CNN that it is time for Hillary to pack it in.
Get ready for a victory speech tonight.

Obama .... he won't win.... I won't support him ... I'm a democrat... I'll either not vote or I'll vote for McCain... but never Obama .... I dont want a President that takes months to repudiate bigotry and hatred such as Reverend Wright... it speaks to his personality... it speaks to his leadership.... it speaks to his core

Barack Obama did not "WIN" anything it was "GIVEN" to him, good luck to Obama in November he is going to need it, the Democratic Party /& DNC back room deals disenfranchised a lot of people, no one is forgetting this or Obamas ties to his radical racists church of 2 decades and friends it will be revisited many, many times.
He is limping to the finish line...

How narrow minded can some of you people be? Rules are rules. Each candidate signed a document indicating they would not campaign in FL or MI, so why is Hillary crying foul almost two years later? I think the decision was fair. Obama's name was NOT on the ballot in MI. How fair is that to him? He wanted to play by the rules. If Hillary was ahead without those states, I don't think she would be crying sexism or anything else. As far as the DNC Committee vote is concerned, Hillary and Obama agreed to the out come. 30 people voted. Done deal, period. Unless their votes don't count. Just like Ms. Brazil said, "you can't change the rules once the game begins. That is called cheating." And by the way, we live in a country of rules or there would be mayhem. I bet everyone stops at a stop sign and a red light!

OBAMA is for all people and if you had any brains at all you would know that he does not have Rev. Wrights views. I'm black and I don't have Rev.

Obama is a stronger candidate than McCain on all issues , and all you Dems who vote for McCain will be doing so out of anger and vindictiveness because Hillary did not win the nomination. Use you intellect, not your emotions. Another 4 years of a Republican prez would be disastrous.

DO YOU ALL REALLY THINK THIS ELECTION IN NOVEMBER WILL REALLY CHANGE ANYTHING THAT MATTERS TO OUR COUNTRY, WHETHER IT BE GAS PRICES OR THE CURRENT WARS WE ARE IN? NO PRESINDENT CAN OR WOULD EVEN DARE TO TAKE ON THE BIG OIL COMPANIES IN FEAR OF BEING SHOT!!! OPEC RUNS THE WORLD AND NOBODY CAN CONTROL THEM OTHER THAN THE PEOPLE. WE NEED TO ALL GO OUT AND BUY A BARREL OF GAS, OR JUST ENOUGH TO GET TO THE BARE ESSENSIALS FOR "ONE MONTH" AND NOT BUY ANY GAS FOR ONE MONTH AND THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD FREAK BECAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE TO SHUT DOWN PRODUCTION WHICH WOULD COST THEM MUCH MORE THAN CUTTING THE PRICE OF OIL TO $20 A BARREL, WHICH WOULD CUT GAS TO ABOUT A BUCK A GAL. WE THE PEOPLE HAVE TO TAKE A STAND...NOT THE PRESIDENT. OBAMA SAYS HE WILL LOOK INTO THE OIL COMPANIES FOR PRICE GOUGING AND STUFF...BUT IF HE OR ANYONE THAT WOULD BE PRESIDENT WOULD DO SO...THEY WOULD BE SHOT IN SHORT ORDER BY A HITMAN FROM THE OIL COMPANIES, AND ALL THE PESIDENTS HAVE ALWAYS KNOWN THIS IN THE PAST. SO DOES IT REALLY MATTER WHO GETS IN OFFICE THIS NOVEMBER?? NOOOOOOO NOTHING CAN HELP OUR ECONOMY OTHER THAN THE PRICE OF GAS & OIL COMING BACK DOWN TO A $1.00 to $1.50 A GALLON AND THEN IT WILL STILL TAKE MANY YEARS TO GET THINGS BACK DOWN. WHY CAN MORE PEOPLE SEE THAT??? IS IT TOO EASY AND SIMPLE TO SEE AND BELIEVE? STOP BUYING GAS FOR A MONTH AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS!!!

can't wait to vote against this racist idiot,(obama), at least with McCain we have a true american. dnc and obama supporters really beleive we'll just "get over it" in a few months and unite behind their "messiah" before nov. lol, your kidding, right? please tell me you guys really don't beleive this. do you think we won't vote for him because our canidate lost? then you people are even more ignorant then we thought. we won't vote for him because he's a racist, he's got alot of really nice freinds(renzo, ayers, wright,) he has bad judgement, bad character, and every time the idiot speaks he gives me more reasons NOT to vote for him! ANYONE who votes for someone just because they belong to a certain party is just weak minded,(a sheep), everyone should vote for the person they believe would help our country! I was a demacrat for thirty years because they generally go along with my idea of how things should be, and they usally have a nominee I am willing to vote for, BUT NOT ANYMORE, I am ashamed of the demacratic party(if they had a conscious,(dnc)they would be too), so I am an Independent now, I wouldn't vote for your "messiah" if he were the only one on the ticket. so go ahead dnc, and obama supporters, live in your dream world, enjoy him while you can. I'll bet there are more strong minded people then there are weak. see you in nov. get ready to say mr. president John McCain,

Everyone that crys "CONSPIRACY" existed in this race should look in the mirror. Then at the spamming conspiracy some bloggers posed against Barack Obama. As the world turns, that type of conspiracy failed. Barack Obama ran a strong fair grass-roots campaign campaign and it worked.

bert what a racist you are lollllllllllllll.do you really think your 1 little vote matters?obama can care less if you dont vote for him.he has 100 new voters to take your place stupid.and by the way learn how to spell before you post idiot.

I really hate to say it....but the chance of Hillary pulling this off tonight with Obama needing just a fraction of the delegate votes, about 20% of the votes should easily do it for him? Hillery would need almost all the votes to swing her way, and I would have to say that she has about a 2% chance of that ever happening? It's over for her...she knows it, but will drag it out to the end like she should. But when it comes to the November ballot...alot of democrates, that suported Hillery & some that didn't, are going to either not vote or vote for McCain whether they like him or not! The democrates really messed up this primary by not having anyone there to vote for...so you have women voting for a woman...minorities voting for a minority in Obama, and some democrates just voting for anyone that's a democrate. This election is such a mess that I believe that alot of democrates, other than some "HARD CORE" are going to be frustrated and start voting Indepenant or Republican when it comes to the House and Senate...so look for the Republicans to keep control over Congress and probably get stronger, just because of Obama & Hillary...THANKS DUMMIES FOR NOTHING!!!!

yadda yadda yadda, yeah, we know if we don't vote for your "messiah" we're racist, god, that is so old. and what are you the spelling police? you keep telling yourself that your "messiah" doesn't need Hillary supporters, lol, see you in nov.

To Leman Ingalls9 and all the rest of you ignorant white folks--When are you all going to stop thinking you're better than black people? You f%*&^g white people raped, robbed and enslaved us. Wasn't that enough? What did black people ever do to white people to be discriminated against for the rest of there lives? I hate to sound just as ignorant as someone like Leman Ingalls9, however I cannot restrain myself any longer. Throughout this election, I have been amazed at the covert racism that still exists in the hearts of white Americans. They smile in your faces, but deep down inside they still think they are better that every other race, particularly black people.
It's unbelievable just how ignorant so many white people are. Yet they believe that blacks are so stupid. Leman Ingalls9 said that Obama and his wife hate the USA and that he would never vote for Obama! How ridiculous is that? Obama has lived in this country for most on his life and has work and supported this country for many, many years. Why don't you f%^^&*g ignorant white people read and get informed about Obama before making ridiculous accusations! Please!!
Finally we get a chance to elect a man who can possibly make a change is this government; a government that is so out of touch with what everyday Americans need and want. And what do you f$%^&*g white folks want to do? Defame and demoralize this man just because he is black. Black men (and women) helped to build America, you ignorant m#$%^^ f#$^&ers!!! Get that!!!!!
So, to you ignorant white people like Leman Ingalls9—Obama doesn’t need your vote anyway. Shove it up you old white A**!!!!
Bobby11:02AMJun 3rd 2008
I really don't know why ignorant people keep calling this race...racist racist racist? Sure there were only 2 Dems in the running and it just happened to be a Woman & a Black man "or whatever mix he is?" It doesn't matter to me what they both are, but I will have to say that with the POOR choices that the Dems had to vote for...BOTH of them are actually minorities in my opionion as far as a Presidential canidate? As canidates, both women and anybody that is not white is a minority in this country. So just because the Dems didn't have alot of choices if they wanted to be hard core Dems and vote for a Dem...they had to vote for a minority or NOT VOTE or turn independant? Sure..I would say alot of White people and women voted for Hillary just because she was a Woman...but that included women of all races that just wanted to vote for a woman and the people that didn't want a Woman as a canidate...had no other choice other than to vote for Obama or again...NOT VOTE at all? So I guess you could call this a RACIAL thing, but I wouldn't call it a BLACK thing, like I keep hearing racist yelling out. The people, unforgenately, only had a choice beteen two minorities...a WOMAN AND A MAN. So call it what you want...I just call it a BIG MESS and alot of money spent by the Dems in a losing battle because they wanted to back Hillery & Obama and at the end...I really don't think anybody really wants either one in office? Maybe if they get together and run together on the November ballot as President & Vise President for the democrates...there might be enough Dems to vote them in? But what a mess it will be, because they don't agree and are fighting now like they are a married couple...so does anybody think it will be any different if they join together in a disasterous MARRIGE in the White House??? OH...and don't forget..BILL will be in the White House sitting somewhere at a desk with a BIG SMILE on his face!!!
