Face Off: A Dream Ticket? Really?
Jun 13th 2008 9:47AM
Filed Under:eHillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Featured Stories, 2008 President, Face Off

Face Off is back! Two of our writers will be posting separate pieces on a hot-button topic. You can check out both and then vote for the one that speaks to you and aligns with your views.
Today the topic is the pros and cons of an Obama/Clinton ticket. Dreamy or nightmarish?
Tommy Christopher writes:
Should Barack Obama pick Hillary Clinton to be his vice president? Never has such an obvious answer been so hotly debated. The answer really only depends on one factor: How much does Barack Obama want to win by in November? Read more
Mark Impomeni writes:
The greatest danger that the Clintons pose for Obama comes not from their detractors, but from the Clintons themselves. And, ironically, it is here that Sen. Clinton's large following argues against her selection as Obama's running mate.... Read More

We need to replace the democratic members of Congress.
The Barack Hussein Obama, the biased media and the DNC big-wigs stole the candidacy from Hillary Clinton. Obama has told too many lies and has too many ties to terrorists and anti-Americans. Hillary needs to run in 2012.
I hope Ron Paul will join the McCain campaign. We need a president who loves America. McCain has proven that he loves this country enough to die for it.
Obama and his anti-American wife are scary.
McCain ‘08 --- Hillary '12.

Kaler,
Who ever you are for you are right. Hillary will never be on the ticket. They do not match very well. However, he could use her in his administration. Health and insurance, they both want to see this happen.

The people in Florida and Michigan did not break the rules --- a few "politicians" did.

Yipes, I never thought I would agree more with Mark than Tommy, but, Mark is right.
Obama's campaign is about looking forward, not backward. If Democrats are saying McCain is a third Bush term, and part of the past, so are the Clinton's. There is no escaping that. If Hillary were the VP nominee, it would be all about her. It's not going to happen - Obama has his flaws, God knows, but he is not that foolish.
The disgruntled Democrats who love Hillary will either have to get over it and jump on the bandwagon for Obama or sit this campaign out. They are also free to vote for McCain, as some threaten to do. But please spare us the nonsense that McCain and Clinton have the same policy issues. They do not, and both would be the first to say so. I beleive Hillary pointed out those differences last Saturday in her concession speech.
Ruby1:50PMJun 13th 2008
It does not matter who Obama chooses as his VP because he will not be elected. The DNC has alienated too many voters who will not support their selected nominee, Barack Obama. This is not the Democratic Party that we signed up for. We are saying: NO DEAL!
Obama's supporters have not noticed what the rest of the Democratic Party has seen. There are too many red flags flying over Barack Obama's head. Obama said that it was a boneheaded mistake to be involved in a real estate deal with Tony Rezko, the now convicted felon, who Obama knew was under federal investigation at the time. Was it also a boneheaded mistake for Obama to accept campaign contributions from Rezko? What about having frequent lunches with Rezko, socializing with Rezko and his wife, and even going to Rezko's vacation home in Wisconsin?
Excuse me for connecting all of these dots and being unwilling to elect Barack Obama to the office of President of the United States. Obama has been swimming in the sewers of Chicago politics too long to be the change we can believe in. Never Obama.

To: ANYBODY BUT OBAMA AND ED SLOUGH:
Crawl back under your respective rocks after you get your head out of the sand and realize Hillary's party is over. Obama is the candidate, whether you like it or not. Stop rationalizing your race bias and indulging in meaningless rhetoric to cover your prejudice. I was a WHITE Republican, but am now a WHITE Independent, ready to vote for Obama as the candidate with the most inspirational vision of change to get us out of the mess we are in.

VOTING FOR OBAMA IS OUT-OF-THE-QUESTION--EVEN IF HILLARY RUNS WITH HIM (WHICH I DOUBT) BECAUSE HE WOULD STILL BE THE PRESIDENT AND HE'S A SMOOTH-TALKING, RACIST, ANTI-SEMITIC SNAKE OIL SALESMAN. I'D VOTE FOR A GORE, AN ANDREW YOUNG, OR ANY ONE OF HUNDREDS--IF NOT THOUSANDS--OF OTHER DEMOCRATS (INCLUDING HILLARY, THE BEST), BUT I WON'T VOTE TO MAKE OBAMA PRESIDENT OF THIS COUNTRY OR HIS ANTI-AMERICAN WIFE THE FIRST LADY. (Maybe he should to be the head of Kenya,as he's also a citizen of that country.)
lulu2:25PMJun 13th 2008
As a Hillary supporter, she would be foolish to accept the vice presidency, if offered. She doesn't want to be stuck on the Titantic when it goes down.
Now Hillary as McCain's vice president...that is one ticket I would love to see. Two members from opposing parties working for the good of ALL Americans. Hillary can tackle the domestic issues and McCain can tackle foreign policy.
Ah, what a dream!
Bob S.2:25PMJun 13th 2008
To Scott:
I'm sick and tired of seeing people accused of being racist because they won't vote for Obama. I'd gladly vote for someone who's Black, if I'd vote for that person if he or she were white. To say that a person is racist because that person chooses not to vote for one particular (inexperienced) Black person, is, in and of itself, racist. Candidates should be judged without regard to race, color, or sex,but they should be judged becausee choosing among candidates is the whole point of elections.

MY GIRL HILLARY IS RESTING WELL AFTER A LONG CAMPAIGN. THEY SAY THE CLINTONS WILL DIE.
WELL, BILL CLINTON IS BACK ALREADY TO MAKING MILLIONS TO TALK AND WATCH TILL HILLARY GETS INVOLVED AGAIN. THE CLINTONS NEVER DIE.
SO, TJ IS SAYING : CHILL THE VP TALK.
HILLARY DOESNT WANT IT--I DONT LIKE IT
MOST HER SUPPORTERS HATE IT.
OBAMA SHOULD FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO BLAME FOR HIS MISTAKES
HILLARY AINT HIS "MAMA"
TRY BLAMING HIS "BABY MAMA" MICHELE
OBAMA AND HIS WIFE SHOULD FIGHT THEIR DEMONS ALONE..
SO THE IDEA IS; THE CLINTONS ARE A POWER HOUSE AND THAT IS WHY THE BLOGS ARE EMPTY. THE ELECTION IS VIRTUALLY DEAD.
THE CLINTONS GOT "IT" THE FLASH!
WHAT CAN I SAY..
I LOVE THEM TWO
THEY ARE ACHIEVERS AND THEY GET THINGS DONE.
TJ, THE CLINTONITE SAYING CHILL THE VP TALK
HILLARY IS HER OWN PERSON. BAD IDEA...

During a Michelle Obama appearance at Carnegie Mellon University, the school paper The Tartan reported the attention-getting phrase:
The Tartan's correspondents observed one event coordinator say to another, "Get me more white people, we need more white people." To an Asian girl sitting in the back row, one coordinator said, "We're moving you, sorry. It's going to look so pretty, though."
"I didn't know they would say, 'We need a white person here,' " said attendee and senior psychology major Shayna Watson, who sat in the crowd behind Mrs. Obama. "I understood they would want a show of diversity, but to pick up people and to reseat them, I didn't know it would be so outright."

Anything But.....
It seems like you have forgotten that it has been a republican majority of congress that has gotten us into the trouble we are in, in the first place. Following the dictates of Bush and Cheney has been our downfall. As for the people in Florida and Michigan, well it was their elected politicians that broke the rule, let them vote them out of office. Obama followed what the DNC ruled on and Hillary did not. No one stole the nomination from Hillary, she lost it all by herself and her husband. We all know if Hillary was nominated, and won the election, it would be a cover up for a third term presidency for Bill. Hillary would have been a front for her husband.

OBAMA IS TURNING INTO A BIG WHINEY CRY-BABY... If you can't run with the big dogs Obama, stay on the porch with the pups.
If Obama and his hateful wife can't take a few jabs, how on earth could he stand the heat of being president with 50% of the nation and Congress being GOP?

The sheer fact that the DNC did not step up to the plate and defend sexism against Hillary Clinton shows they are sexist themselves. The only person who rallied behind the injustice done to Hillary Clinton in this campaign was Geraldine Ferraro and she got hate mail for it!
Howard Dean is hypocritcal to come out NOW and say there was sexism. Everyone jumped on the racial bandwagon, but no one admitted sexism when it was happening. Still Hillary got the popular vote despite every attempt the DNC members made to get her to drop out. To me, that shows the true nature of the Democratic Party and I will not vote for them. Hillary Clinton is the only clear choice for president and I will write her name in on the ballot.
Dave 13:46PMJun 13th 2008
I couldn't even vote for a Hillary/Øbama ticket because I would be afraid something would happen to Hillary, and that idiot would become President (until someone blew him away).

We need to clean out the DNC , the Supreme Court, and most of the idiots in congress and Senate. Maybe we could get back to a clean Government, if we ever had one.

T.C , I rarely respond to these posts, as I find many of them ignorant, angry and uneducated with the issues, or spew about unrelated topics.
I don't know where your love affair with Clinton started, but is has obviously sunk into part of your memory bank.I would think someone that has ran around this media circle, would see the entire picture. I believe you might might want to bet on wether H.C will be on the V.P ticket? if so, I have my hand out for a shake. I know Hilliary will never be on this ticket.
