Chris Matthews would have to clean up his act a WHOLE lot before he'd ever be worthy of MTP. The entire network needs to do something about their blatant bias. It used to be a favorite, but is no more.
It's unfortunate Tim Russert lost his life at such a young age. It goes to show you that age is irrelevant; one can go anytime. I extend my sympathy to his family.

Whoever NBC chooses should be, like Tim Russert was, scrupulously fair and not just another leftist ideologue like Chris Matthews or Keith Olbermann. And how about ensuring that all MTP panel discussions are EQUALLY represented by conservative and liberal viewpoints, instead of the same old band of liberals.

Tim Russert consistently used the tactics of "search and destroy" when he interviewed his guests with one exception--- Obama. His tactics when interviewing Obama were don't ask, don't search, and for heavens sake don't try to find the truth. Olberman and Matthews are Obama backers also, so maybe one of them should take his place on the mean channel.

Chris Matthews...........never, too radical. Keith O.,just to nasty both of them. Tim would turn in his grave.Maybe Tom B.

It certainly won't be someone who will be impartial not at liberal leaning Imelt GE-backed NBC.
Rita Peabody2:41AMJun 16th 2008
My guess is that NBC will ask Tom Brokaw to take a temporary position as moderator until a permanent replacement can take over the spot. Tom has retired and probably doesn't wish to hold that position but most likely would do so for a short time on behalf of his friend Tim and his loyalty to NBC. Possibly Jim Learer (sp?) or Andrea Mitchell?

GET JERRY SPRINGER, HE'LL TELL THE TRUTH, HE'S NOT SCARED, LIKE CNN AND MSNBC AND FOX,,,,THERE KNOW AS SCAB TO AMERICA,, SHAME ON THEM

If it is either Chris Matthews or Keith Olberman, NBC may as well cancle the show now.

Maybe Obama.....he'll be available after November when McCain wins the GE. He was an obvious favorite of Russert and the network....he owes them some face time and possibly he'll garner a new career.....he is an excellent speaker. Who knows if after the loss of the GE, he'll get re-elected to his senate seat.....we just never know for sure what's comming down the pike.

I agree with Suzanne ...anyone but Matthews or Olbermann

i think Chris Matthews should take over. Its sad to think that we won't hear our beloved Tim Russert on Sunday mornings. Sundays just won't be the same. RIP Tim!
