What do you think? Does Gore's endorsement mean anything for Obama in the long run?

Al Gore has a HUGE following and of course it will be a HUGE help to Obama.

Gore has a proven record of being a vote-getter. Gore won the national vote in 2000, outpolling George Bush by 500,000 votes.

Nah, this is not a big deal. Who was Al Gore going to endorse? McCain? Hillary already endorsed Obama, so...it's clear that the avenue is to show support for Obama, whether it's genuine or not.
BTW, I got one of those mass emails from the Hillary Clinton folks and it said that Hillary will be coming back soon. So, I hope no one will be too shocked to see her campaigning for Obama. I certainly hope the nightmare ticket is off the table.
Though, I'll just remind you, he is only the 'presumptive' nominee and anything can happen between now and August, and from now to November for that matter.

I cannot for the life of me understand why Aol posted 500 shots of Barak at the Gore endorsement? Wouldn't ten be enough? Doesn't this confirm the media bias for Barak Obama and against John McCain?
Check the headlines like "McCain's Disastrous Speech"

Glad to see Big AL joined the Osama group..Knew he would. Those speech lessons did help. This will only help McCain, and gives me and others another reason to switch parties.
Good goin DNC

Change for Change sake is not an intelligent presidential policy.....it's silly and just a campaign slogan trying to brand McCain to be the same as Bush......an un-truth....McCain is ndependent of Bush although he agree with him occasionally ( Barak is slowly undoing his previous foreign policy statements...becoming closer to Clinton/McCain

Al Gore is a monumental asset to Barack Obama's campaign!!
Al Gore has setup his own Obama/Gore campaign website. Got a notice via email.
Al Gore is the logical place to turn for a real antiwar candidate like Barack Obama. Al Gore is anti-war also.
Al Gore has many supporters due to his climate change and global warming, the issue that brought Gore the Nobel; his personal issue.
With a growing army of environmentalist voters, horrified at photos of polar bears searching in the Arctic Sea for ice on which to stand, Al Gore is not only an advocate. He is a prophet, now brought in from the wilderness.
Al Gore can raise the money!! Gore needs only to whistle and he will find Hollywood celebrities falling all over themselves in an effort to help him raise funds.
Al Gore’s own relationships with Democratic donors run deep and long standing. With environmentalists making up a large segment of Democratic Party money, Al Gore could quickly increase campaign fund raising for Barack Obama.

Dear Al, baby
And Al, sweetie, I intend to do everything I can to expose the corruption that has become the Democratic party..
I will vote for Obama when pigs fly
http://bp3.blogger.com/_t-EfdceTs60/SDkwLXpb9oI/AAAAAAAADpo/lUuXJ57y6Xs/s1600-h/pigsfly.jpg
You have just joined the team of Democrats that are selling out our party to the mob controlled Chicago
Political Machine. I will not vote for an ultra-liberal, radical, anti-american, terrorist-loving, white-hating, CORRUPT, liar .
Nor will I defend the party leadership who are intent on destroying what should have been a landslide year. You don't make the paperboy the CEO of the newspaper unless of course you are the DNC. Obama will lose and the Democratic majority we are enjoying will go with him. You will see your name tied to the names McGovern and Dukakis in the history books. Is that what you want?
Your endorsement means nothing except to take away the respect I once had for you. You have joined the
ranks of the political puppets like Howard Dean, for whom I now have nothing but contempt. Party Unity? No Chance!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a wealth of material on the Obama boy and I intend to use every word of it every day, until he is gone. He has hi-jacked the party with the willing consent of the party leadership and there are at least 7.5 million of us who will not pay the ransom

Not even God's endorsement will save the Obama boys skinney little ass.

Obama Moves DNC Headquarters to Chicago »
By SusanUnPCcloseAuthor: SusanUnPC Name:
I heard the news, and was struck by the audacity of Obama moving the DNC headquarters and employees to the epicenter of machine and mob politics. Ben Smith of Politico.com wrote that the abrupt move is “a major shakeup” and, in an understated phrase, a “departure from tradition.”
I knew at once that Barack Obama was seizing the DNC by the hair, and dragging it into his lair where he can seize control of the Democratic party’s monies, its employees, and any access to its power brokers. The party is no longer, in any way, the party of the Democratic voter. It is now Barack Obama’s party, to do with as he wishes.
The Obama-controlled Chicago machine will hold sway over all Superdelegates running for reelection this year — including their access to money, support, and endorsements.
Those freshman House members will be kneeling and kissing Obama’s ring in no time and, for their sakes, they’d better not have supported Hillary.
Chicago is the home of Obama’s longtime extremist mentors, associates, advisers and benefactors — both before and immediately after his law school years — including Reverends Jeremiah Wright, Otis Moss and James Meeks; Minister Louis Farrakhan; Father Michael Pfleger; Weather Underground terrorists William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn; marketing guru David Axelrod who created the mix-and-match Obama and Deval Patrick personae; the convicted Antoin “Tony” Rezko who only two years ago enabled a “sweetheart deal” that allowed Barack and Michelle Obama to buy a historic mansion they could ill afford; the Illinois state senator power broker Emil Jones who “[f]or almost a year … used his position as leader of the state senate to block anticorruption legislation passed unanimously by the state’s lower house.”

It does not surprise me a bit, about how negative people get when it comes to a Democrat. This country motto is what? Divide we fall, together we stand? Well we are divide. The difference I see in this country is Democrats for minority, and Republican for the wealty. So to answer my question. DIVIDED WE FALL!

EXCELLENT headlines AOL -- "McCain's Disastrous Speech"
Those Democrats who had their bubble bursted have claimed to be slanting to Republican McCain who drones on and on from his soap box as if a bubble off; talk with nothing behind it. Disillusioned or not folks, John is not the candidate for change in Washington. Cyber world is full of political cheap talk, lies and smears about the people's choice, the Democrat's prospective nominee, but the truth is out there and available to those who care enough about America's future and don't like what the Republican administration has dished us for the last 8 years.
The choice is clear! Barack Obama 2008.
jane lowery11:03AMJun 17th 2008
what is up w. aol....your polls and comments are so conservatively skewed...you do not represent America...there is no way John McCain is ahead...yet a great majority of your subscribers seem so out of touch...may have to use my other internet address...Prefer Cindy McCain to Michele Obama? ridiculous! who are these people...older boomers...first on the net, that's who...get with it folks!
Get over it11:06AMJun 17th 2008
Clinton supporters:
Time to wipe your tears and move on.
The Democratic Party has its nominee. The republicans in all their wisdom have theirs. Now the choice is up to the American people. Your letter, petitions, threats and tears will not change that.
So in November you will have to choose between.
The democratic candidate promising a change from Bush/McCain politics.
Your choice will be between a man who does not understand the economy.
McCain says he wants to have the woman’s right to choose overturned.
McCain says the economic downturn is psychological.
McCain says you are better off under George Bush.
McCain says eBay is the answer for poverty and recession.
McCain says we should tear down New Orleans.
McCain says irresponsible, undeserving homeowners are loosing their homes.
McCain says you should work a second job, skip a vacation.
McCain said I’m not running on the Bush presidency.
On April 1, 2008, John McCain offered Americans another April Fool’s joke, proclaiming I’m not running on the Bush presidency. McCain might want to check his campaign’s position papers. After all, in his eternal quest for the Republican nomination, McCain has adopted virtually the entire Bush agenda, often reversing long held positions and compromising supposed core principles. From Iraq, tax cuts for the wealthy, broken promises on the deficit to opposition to SCHIP, tax credits for health care, overturning Roe v. Wade and a right-wing Supreme Court, John McCain represents a third Bush term.
So you could be bitter, very, very bitter.
Or you could work to save this nation.

The main reason Gore has set up a web-site is that he can do fund-raising without having to comply with donation limits!! Is this a new Change, or just the same old politics that Obama supposedly is against.
Re: Celestine's comments...this the classic Democrat liberal program since FDR. The concept is that the Federal government is only way to help the less enfranchsed. Most of these programs just make the poor more dependent on the government, instead of setting up programs so that the underpriveledged can learn to support themselves and become independent.
It is SILLY to say that the Democrats are for minority (sic) (and Republicans are not) or the that Republicans are for the wealty(sic) and the Democrat party is not. There are as many millionaires in the Democrats as in the Republicans. Bear in mind, many of us are Independents and look at these arguments as campaign slogans only. By the way Barak, Hillary, Kennedy, etc, etc, etc, are multi-millionaires. Of course they help the poor it's just those nasty Republican millionaires who just think of themselves not the poor.
HANK-THE-FRANK11:26AMJun 17th 2008
BAH HUMBUG to all you anti Obama demagogues. Your ignorant rants, raves and miserable dissents are a disservice to all Americans.
The harmfull effects of such excessive negative, odd
frivolities and wasted energy will vanish, become dissipated and dissolute by November as more and more true Americans step up to the plate to help restore credibility and respectability to our country.
America will move on to higher ground, leaving behind the uncreditable and disrespectable to wamble and wall-eye in their own pity cups and misery.
Mary Murphy11:52AMJun 17th 2008
Al Gore is a turncoat and therefore should be ignored. He has no loyalty except to his own desire to be selected as another Vice to another President. I liked him better when his agenda was Global warming. At least then he spoke with credibility and was genuine and believable. Now he just looks like another politican spouting retoric that makes him look like the turncoat he is.

I don't see how it means anything. Everybody knew Gore would endorse BO anyway.
Glad to see Al finally learned to give a speech.
I said 8 years ago what the DNC needed to do was teach him to speak, fix his teeth, make him lose some weight and hit the gym. He could have won.
With all that money there is no excuse to look like a fat slob in what is essentially a beauty contest (when have Americans ever picked the less attractive man?)
Well at least he shaved the beard.
