Gawd, are you kidding? There are hundreds of youtube videos that easily put together his contradictory statements....on....EVERYTHING.

It is so unsettling. He is doing what his camp always accused his opponent of doing: Saying and doing anything to get elected.

I think there are serious morality issues at play here. Obama's stances change with the wind.

What's even more bone-chilling...is that he has always voted just as he speaks! "present"...neither here nor there...

People should be concerned. This is far too well-oiled and choreographed. Don't mistake it for inexperience exclusively...Obama has Daley's Axelrod helping him.

There is nothing wrong with change, the question is why? We change every day, no river we stekp into is the same river we step into later. So we should be asking why does he change? As far a NAFTA goes, the issue isn't whether or not we should accept mevican goods, rwather it is more that of asking how in the hell did we get to shipping a whole factory down there and then shipping the product back to us as if it were a mexican product. Look, Bush never changed his positions, don't we all wish he had?

Funny how TJ's words never change, he is saying the same thing he said months ago...

It is foolish to adopt a fixed position and never change.

There are alot of Americans not happy with NAFTA. The RNC is helping Senator Obama by bringing this issue up. They help Senator Obama in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and other states affected by NAFTA. It is interesting that according to Newsweek, Senator Obama leads Senator McCain in the national polls by 15%. That is not good news for the RNC or Senator McCain. If it continues or gets worse, the Republicans will lose the White House by a humiliating landslide. Note all the conditions are currently present for this to occur.

Brian you really shouldn't mention that Obama is leading by fifteen points around here. Around here Obama is losing and it is McCain that will take the prize home. Around here McCain is the saint and Obama is the bad guy. Around here, McCain doesn't change according to his audience, McCain holds to both views of any subject simultaneously and thus can say the right thing no matter where he is. Around here, some people actually believe that is brilliant of him...

on the other hand, Obama could keep on going in the tradition he has established, and if he does, he will win by the greatest of all landslides in political history; actually change the way politics is done, from corrupt to honest, and in so dong come to be regarded as one of the great presidents of all time. And considering how we are but a crisis away from bankrupcy today thanks to the unregulated greed of the neocons and neoliberals, Obama will be kinown for saving America from that great fall. There isn't anyone living who is experienced in saving a great nation from the histrical collaspe. The only question is can Obama rise to the occasion? I think so and I will tell you why. Obana has strength in leading people to become leaders. Take me for example, they don't know about me, but I willingly spend almost all my free time watching Obama's back. So Obama has the capability of leading a nation of leaders to the victory over demisedom. Only the people can save this nation orginally created by the people of the people and for the people. No other will work together to give it to the people. On;ly the people can do it, only Obama is leading the people.

From the snippets assembled in the ad, I gather Obama said that he is for "free trade" but that he has problems with NAFTA as it is presently constituted.

There is no contradiction in that.

The error in your reasoning is to equate "free trade" with NAFTA as it presently exists. They are not necessarily one and the same thing.

To propose changes in the NAFTA agreement, or even to propose U.S. withdrawl from NAFTA,does not necessarily imply opposition to "free trade".

I would never, in a thousand years, vote to put a liberal in the White House. But if I did, Obama's lack of leadership skills would greatly concern me. It's not so much him changing his stance on issues, it's how often he does it, as well as the timing of them.

This man gives new meaning to the phrase "politically expedient".

Ah, yes, Obama is shifting with the political winds he described in his book when he said that he would "stick with" the Muslims. He has given the term, "chameleon," new meaning. And he is the master of constructing phrases and bodies of rhetoric which contain nebulous constructions, capable of being interpreted according to the mindset of the person viewing the document or listening to the speech. Then
there are the times when he just plainly contradicts himself. For example, he states that he is in favor of gun control but then tells Idaho voters that he will not take away the guns of Illinois hunters.
He says he favors taking away tax breaks from the wealthy, but then he voted for the Bush/Cheney energy bill. The list of his inconsistencies is endless. Political expediency rules the life of Obama.

McCain is the candidate who is a third Bush term.
This is the man who voted to send our bravest to die looking for weapons of mass destruction that did not exist.
This is the man who does not know that 9-11 was caused by Osama Bin Laden not Sedam Hussein.
This is the man who does not know if the Sunnis or Sheits are our enemies!
This is the man who put our government on the Japan, Saudi Arabia credit card.
This is the man has adopted virtually the entire Bush agenda, often reversing long held positions and compromising supposed core principles. From Iraq, tax cuts for the wealthy, broken promises on the deficit to opposition to SCHIP, tax credits for health care, overturning Roe v. Wade and a right-wing Supreme Court, John McCain represents a third Bush term.
Our only hope is Obama.

If Newsweek were more pliable one could wipe their ass with it. As bad as the liberal slant is on AOL their own unbiased polls show McCain leading handily on every single one I've voted on. "Who do you trust more" poll, McCain in a landslide with what I'm sure is a good cross section of both parties. It's a sad commentary if the man overwhelmingly winning on trust is behind 15 points in the minds of America....
