On Obamacons
Jul 2nd 2008 3:58PM
Filed Under:eRepublicans, Barack Obama, John McCain, Featured Stories, 2008 President, Media
Interesting column by Robert Novak on why the McCain camp may be worried about so-called "Obamacons," conservatives leaning towards Obama in '08. (Novak did not coin the term.) He names Chuck Hagel and Colin Powell as the most high profile members of the growing group, with people like Jack Kemp and noted supply-side economists Bruce Bartlett and Larry Hunter also possibly among the ranks. So what is an Obamacon? Not what you think. They're not to be confused with the Obamamaniacs, those voters caught up in the primary frenzy, sporting buttons and spouting JFK comparisons. No, it's not that the Obamacons are so enthralled with the Illinois senator, and they don't even dislike John McCain. They're just so disgusted with the Republican Party and the Bush Administration that they believe the GOP deserves to be trounced in November. The idea I guess is to destroy all vestiges of the woeful Bush years and rebuild anew.
Explaining his support for the uncompromisingly liberal Obama, Hunter blogged on June 6: "The Republican Party is a dead rotting carcass with a few decrepit old leaders stumbling around like zombies in a horror version of 'Weekend With Bernie,' handcuffed to a corpse."McCain should be concerned, Novak says, because on Election Day the "therapeutic electoral bloodbath could get out of control." What if Obamaconitis is catching and spreads throughout the party? What if Republicans by the throngs suddenly realize self-flagellation is the best way to repent for the sins of the past eight years?
Think that's unlikely? Here's something even more far-fetched. Novak ends the column by stating that Obamacons "should cause soul-searching at the Bush White House about who made the Republican Party so difficult a place for Republicans to stay." Soul-searching at the White House? That'll be the day.

Hey Vadomingo,
Why don't you go and screw your dog you uninformed, herded like sheep, ingnorant bigot. It's people like you that are the reason why this country is headed for collapse. All you Archie Bunker wannabees are so quick to use your hatred and predjudices than intellect or common sense. Go ahead and vote for your dog. No big deal. You probably voted for Bush.

Obama's 15 minutes of fame is almost over. The people I know who voted for Obama in the Primary are having "buyers remorse". They can't believe they were hoodwinked with his LIES and deception. The SuperDelegates need to rethink their position and come convention time, give Hillary the nomination. NOBAMA!!! Only Hillary or McCain!!!!

Obama is smarter than the entire replublican party put together. It is gratifying to see that not all replublicans are as smart as Limbaugh. He has 13 millions haters following him I am sure that a few of them are here. Obama's number one priority is to get elected. So the question id what does he have to do to get elected?

And I never voted for a republican either...until, maybe...now this coming Nov. Get it? Make yourself a favor and get detoxicated.

No way! I could never vote for Obama! Don't you people see that the man is a black sepratist, a socialist, and has almost no experience in the Senate. What qualifications does he have to be our next president beyond his poise?
Good luck getting Obama into the White House.

Obamacons. No doubt a force to be reckoned with. Numbering the high two figures, their impact is undeniable.
John McCain, beware!!

Bitter H-bots will more than compensate for the Obamacon phenomenon and McCain will win by a comfortable margin.
That being said, Conservatives, if they really want to be a force to be reckoned with, must stop trying to do it through a two party system, and especially through the Republican party. Let the Republican party go up in its spendaholic flames.
The GOP was never based on conservative principles anyway. Rather, Conservatives tried to make the GOP adopt their ideals. They came close with Reagan, Closer with Newt, but it really is a lost cause.
We need to start our own party with conservative principles at its core and grow from there. Attract and support candidates that operate and act based on those principles.
Until then, the public will always be under the false impression that the country was lead by conservatives while Republicans were in power for 12 years and that they dropped the ball.

There is no difference between Obamabots and Obamacons. In case nobody has noticed, most of Obama's followers share common traits; has-been, wannabe, loser. Gore, Kerry, Dukakis, Edwards, Kennedy to name a few. Democratic Party's Finest.
The rest will throw values and principles to the wind just to vote on color.

Singer Opts for ‘Black National Anthem’ Over ‘Star-Spangled Banner’
Oh yes just one of the many changes obama has in mind. I was worried about red beans and rice day on Mondays in New Orleans but I remembered that Africans liked red beans and rice so I feel a lot better about that.

Conservatives be sure to count your blessings tonight when you say your prayers....straw poll shows McCain leading with over 60% of the vote. If Hillary had got the nod, it would be a lot closer and some reason for concern. Send a thank you note to the DNC. First time in my voting life they have ever made me proud of them.

Yes, there is a difference and it is huge.
Obamacons are those conservative crossovers from the Republican side to the Democratic ticket no matter whom the democratic nominee is (could be Mickey Mouse for all they care). They do so in direct retaliation against the GOP for allowing the party to compromise with and therefor capitulate to the liberal left, abandoning the conservative values that got them elected.
An O-bot (not Obamabot) is way different. Having coined the term, it means anyone who blindly devoted to supporting Obama to the point that they will abandon the party if Obama did not get the nod from the Dems. There is no thought put into their support and no skeleton, no matter how damaging, can sway the hysteria they feel for their Messiah.
And by the way, not all that hysteria is based on color (although some to much of it is). Remember the libs need the black vote to win, but the black vote alone is not enough to win it for them.
The "sister term to O-bot is H-bot - the exact opposite of an O-bot, just replace Obama with Hillary in the definition.
After the election, when Obama is defeated (and he will be defeated) The terms O-bot and H-bot will cease to be useful other than in the historical context of explaining why Obama (or Hillary - she still could be the nominee) lost the presidency. The terms may rear their ugly heads again in the next election if Obama runs again (and I don't think he will) and when Hillary runs again (and again and again). However, the terms won't be as effective, because the charisma of Obama will have lost its luster and Hillary will have fallen further from grace .... so ....
Most O-bots and H-bots will blend in (and actually be) L-bots, those that blindly support the liberal cause and candidate and vote democrat because they are told to do so. No thought. No reason. No defense of position. They just do.
That having been said, you sound bitter. Don't be. In the end, Obama won't win. It won't be a Reaganesque landslide, but it won't be pretty either.
Of course, I don't really care who wins. I'm just trying to help out.

Obamacons or whatever they are called,Barack Hussein Obama will lose in Novemeber. People will see who this guy really is. For the life of me, I do not see a Muslim ruling this country. He says he is a Christian ,but he is an Arab by blood, Muslim by birth, and you can change that.A duck that squacks ,talks and looks like a duck is always a duck.
People will vote in the booths differently on what they claim to be right now. I will vote for my dog rather than Barack Hussein Muhammed Obama.
