Gephardt for VP?
It's not as crazy as it sounds. Clinton is most likely out because A: She doesn't want it, and B: Obama doesn't want to give it to her. Edwards was out because he already tried that last time around. So, somebody else then.
Republican strategists trying to game Sen. Barack Obama's choice for a running mate are focusing more and more on the possibility that he might pick former House Majority Leader Dick Gephardt, a friend of labor and blue-collar workers. "Gephardt is the one we're most afraid of," said a key GOP strategist and Bush ally.
Gephardt has run for the presidency and scored well among the types of voters Obama is trying to reach out to--lower and middle-class workers, laborers, and minorities. Another strategist said that Gephardt presents a friendly face of liberalism that would be hard to attack. He also has a deep well of support among House Democrats, who they believe would rally around an Obama-Gephardt ticket, especially the allies of Sen. Hillary Clinton.
He could make up for many Obama weaknesses among the blue collared crowd, and could be the bridge between the new and old Democrats. So yes, it could be Gephardt. Also among those running in the Dem primary in 2004, Gephardt was the only one I was afraid of. I was relieved when they chose the grand dufus John Kerry. (Gephardt would never have made a cringeworthy moment like "reporting for duty")
Downsides to Gephardt? He generates little excitement and appears to have no eyebrows. Oh and also, he is apparently being picked by GOP strategists, so it could be a Republican dirty trick. Be careful.

OBAMA SHOULD NOT BE IN THIS RACE --- HILLARY SHOULD BE. THE DNC AND BIASED MEDIA "SELECTED" OBAMA --- HE WAS NOT "ELECTED" BY THE PEOPLE.
BLACK ANTHEM??? IS THERE A BLACK COUNTRY?
Rene Marie is hiding behind the excuse of "artistic expression". Why couldn't she be proud to sing the National Anthem of the United States? Remember what happened to Imus? He insulted “one” ball team. This woman insulted “millions” of Americans.
"The Black NATIONAL Anthem"? THERE IS NO BLACK NATION! IS THIS WOMAN CRAZY?
I did not know there was a Black National Anthem. Where is this black nation? Do we need a passport to go there?
Are Hispanics allowed in the Black Nation? Exactly
where is it?
This singer opened up a can of worms. It's the "black anthem" ... period.
She should have sung the traditional national anthem and announced she wanted to sing "Lift Every Voice" afterwards.
If she has a problem with the National Anthem, then she could decline the invitation. This was not just poor taste --- this was a real shame. She was more than unprofessional. I might have believed she was drunk. The message she sent was certainly selfish and divisive. Now she has to "deal with it", as she says. An apology would be the considerate thing to do. Being considerate of others does not seem to be one of Rene Marie's qualities. She chose her own race as more important than all others on this occasion. This kind of shame will stay with her.
Many Black-Americans would be offended if a country singer got up and sang "Dixie" and declared it an alternative national anthem.
I see this rendition as nothing different. As hard a song as it is to sing, the “Star Spangled Banner” is our “National Anthem”. Think about it this Fourth of July.
God Bless America.

EXPERIENCE?10:31AMJul 3rd 2008
When Wesley Clark was running for President he was using his military experience as a reason that he would make a good president --- ‘typical’ political hypocrite.
At one point I had some respect for former Gen. Clark. I no longer have any respect for him. His comment is disgusting. John McCain has more character in his little finger than former Gen. Clark or Obama have combined.
This latest stupid comment by an Obama surrogate highlights another reason why the media poster boy, Obama, is not the one to lead our country.
Clark says we should not vote for McCain, JUST BECAUSE he was a prisoner of war --- I say we should not vote for Barack Hussein Obama JUST BECAUSE he is black. Obama has no experience in ‘anything’. His entire campaign has been based on lies.
It's getting very crowded under the Obama bus. If he keeps going this way, he'll have to get some more buses.
Let’s see the Obama list of un-Americans that support him is growing…. We can now add Wesley Clark to the List of Ayers, Wright, Pfleger, Farrakhan, Hamas, Soros, Rezko, Hezbollah on and on . . .
Vote for John McCain in 2008!

Uh, it does not take a genius to realize it is indeed a Republican trick. First of all, Gephardt's own run for the presidency went nowhere. Secondly, he is a former House member whose best political days are behind him (too bad McCain cannot realize HIS best political days are behind him as well). Also, House members never get elected to anything except..well, the House! And lastly, Gephardt represents politics of the past - not good when Obama is trying to be the future of the Democratic party.

What a darn dirty shame Obama has to pick a second in command, because he himself does not have the actual experience! This highlights why are Nation is in such trouble. If we Americans had an ounce of sence we would vote in a man who already does have the experience it will take to clean up this mess up.
What a sorry state of affairs.
