Subj: FW: Post Turtle

While suturing a cut on the hand of a Texas Rancher whose hand had been caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually, the topic got around to Obama and his bid for the presidency.

The old rancher said, Well, ya know, Obama is a 'post turtle'.

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked, 'What is a post turtle'?

The old rancher said, When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.

The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain.

'You know he didn't get up there by himself, he sure as heck doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he is up there and you just wonder what kind of an idiot put him there in the first place.'

From the very start this has been the out cry from many American people. "FRESHMAN ILLINOIS SENATOR".
Obama DOES NOT have the experience to lead this Country. Iraq is just one important example on how Obama has fliped flopped. He will not and can not fufill his promise to the American people, in widthdrawing our troups immeditaly. A CAMPAIGN QUMMICK! And how many Americans/ Obama supporters fell for it?

Senator Clinton has been right all along he CAN NOT win against Seantor McCain. Well, well, well the chickens are coming home to roost!

I'm a Independent voter, who has been sitting on the fence for awhile now, just waiting to see excatly what this "FRESHMAN SENATOR" was going to do after the primeries. I knew if I waited long enough the answer and the clear choice would come to light.
I only pray MORE American see the light and make the right choice. It would be better not to vote then electing a "FRESHMAN SENATOR" to the white house.

BTW, Obama, in a speech in Montane a couple days before his "bitter" comments rejected by so many bitter people, said that he understands and appreciates the father/son hunting culture, but rejects the gang bangers in the inner cities who are lousy shots and invariably shoot three year old children.

THe only solution is not to ban guns, but punish the use of a gun during a crime with severe im[risonment. Murder, using a gun, for example, if equality is to be maintained, would result in life imprisonment without parole.

It's good to know the Democratic instinct to shoot ourselves in the foot is a live and well. (assuming some of you are Democrats)

I'm not talking about Obama and his (shock) willingness to refine his position on the single most complex issue facing this nation! Lord knows what we need now is someone *else* who takes a stand and never ever looks back and most of all never makes mistakes!

This singer opened up a can of worms. It's the "black anthem" ... period.

She should have sung the traditional national anthem and announced she wanted to sing "Lift Every Voice" afterwards.

If she has a problem with the National Anthem, then she could decline the invitation. This was not just poor taste --- this was a real shame. She was more than unprofessional. I might have believed she was drunk. The message she sent was certainly selfish and divisive. Now she has to "deal with it", as she says. An apology would be the considerate thing to do. Being considerate of others does not seem to be one of Rene Marie's qualities. She chose her own race as more important than all others on this occasion. This kind of shame will stay with her.

Many Black-Americans would be offended if a country singer got up and sang "Dixie" and declared it an alternative national anthem.

I see this rendition as nothing different. As hard a song as it is to sing, the “Star Spangled Banner” is our “National Anthem”. Think about it this Fourth of July.
