Good for these USA citizens. I applaud them and hold them in reverence. They are helping us all enjoy the freedoms we treasure. Its a very honorable occupation and one I believe more should follow. Its an honor to represent this wonderful country. We have the best country in the world. Spend some time in Europe and in other countries, and when you land at Dulles outside DC, many of us cry. No, I am not in the military, but I have served the country in other capacities, and am one of the space programs team members. I am retired but still working full time on the new Landsat mission. Washington, DC is a breathtaking city. Beautiful place to live or visit. God Bless America and McCain.

So far all the veterans I know and love have all been
mentally affected after honorable or medical discharge from the armforces of America. My husband died at 49yrs of age an alcoholic, and left 3 beautuful children, my brother-in-law retired early a cripple, my youngest brother out of nine is not able to take care of himself and one of my cousins died while in the Army and the other is mentally unfit. These guys joined the Arm forces because they needed financial assistance to go to school and the fact that there are not jobs for most black men and the fact that they wanted to protect America, but men and women, please try to get your education without having to depend on the Army, get it while you are young and do not have to put your life and fuuture on the line!!! Today Wars are being started because of simple things like, Hurt Egoes, Oil, Economics and things like that, which can be settled around a Round Table discussing Love and Peace - Not WAR.

Wars are started these days for little or no reasons at all. This present War could have been solved around a Round Table with a few Wise Men discussing the future Ecnomics and or the Oil crisis, which amounts to just about the same. After serving in the Armforces of America, My husband died at an early age of 49 due to alcoholic desease, one cousin of mine died while in the Army, my brother-in-law came out disabled, my borther mentally challenged and so is my first cousin. I need more space to inform you of the reasons Why they wanted to join, but they did not feel too very proud nor were they well when their term was over. The little time spent in the Army did not make up for the misery that they had to live with. Think twice about your life and your future before you enter into any career or the Arm forces. Unless we can learn from Barack Obama to Open A Dialouge and engage your other party in discussing the issues up front, we will then have to go to WAR. Isn't that what these kids are doing today at school and on the TV? They are pulling a gun and shoot first then talk later while they are already in the Big House, because they cannot express themselves. Do you rememeber Pres. Bush when he first got into Office, he was unable to put two words together, so what happened next? YOU GUESSSSSSSSSED it.

TO MARK IMPOMENI- Your not playing the liberal media game. Didn't you get the memo? You're not to supposed to let us know that progress is being made in Iraq, and that we're succeeding. We're not supposed to hear anything good about the war- like soldiers are re-enlisting so they can stay and finish what they started, rather than retreat and declare defeat.

If you keep this up, people may not believe the "gloom and doom" liberals in Washington and the media. People may actually think it's not a good idea to pull out of Iraq until the mission is complete.

You should know better than to tell the truth and give positive news about the war. How is the biased media supposed to maintain their liberal agenda? How are they supposed to poison the minds of the masses in this country, when people like you and Fox News are out here stating facts? People like you make it awfully difficult for liberals to squelch conservatism while they push their socialist agendas.

Funny how we are all complaining about the Irag war and this weekend over 1200 soldiers re-enlisted to serve our country for the next four years. In fact a soldier on tv Friday said he hoped no matter who was president that they wanted to stay in Irag til the job was done. He said what they didn't want was all the work they have done so far would not be wasted.

PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS A GREAT PRESIDENT.

I have only respect for President Bush, Laura and the entire Bush family. They are Americans we can look up to and be proud of. I have always loved the Bush family --- They are a warm and loving family --- They have brought back dignity and class into the White House --- I will surely miss them.
Never in our history has a president had so many crises issues placed in front of him. His popularity remains in the 30’s --- higher than our current Congress.
President Bush has been blamed for everything from Katrina to the ongoing hornets nest in the Middle East, which was an issue even before Carter’s days in the White House. Some have even blamed President Bush for 9/11! Had Clinton stopped Bin Laden, 9/11 would not have happened.
Obama and Bush aren't exactly kindred spirits, but the Wall Street Journal editorializes that they're closer than we may think: We're beginning to understand why Barack Obama keeps protesting so vigorously against the prospect of "George Bush's third term." MAYBE HE'S WORRIED THAT SOMEONE WILL NOTICE THAT HE'S THE CANDIDATE WHO'S RUNNING FOR IT.

Most Presidential candidates adapt their message after they win their party nomination, but Obama isn't merely "running to the center." Obama is fleeing from many of his primary positions so markedly and so rapidly that he's embracing a sizable chunk of President Bush's policy. Who would have thought that a Democrat would rehabilitate the much-maligned Bush agenda?
Until we get the Democrats out of control in Congress, the damage cannot be undone --- and if the Democratic candidate (Obama) wins the presidency, we are in deep doo-doo that will forever leave it's stench and stain on our country.
The next President, whether Democrat or Republican, is going to embrace much of Mr. Bush's foreign and anti-terror policy, whether he admits it or not.

Obama really did not win --- he was “selected” by the DNC and this does not make him the better candidate, just a crooked one.

The other runners had others (DNC) helping them to make the decision to quit and endorse Obama.

I think it's great that so many have re-enlisted... that those who fight for US, for 9/11 and so that we shall not live in fear every day because of it... You say oil, I say my babies... you say politicians, I say you have forgotten the sight of people jumping from burning buildings... you say loss, I say necessity... We need justice for the dead, that they may rest in peace, and a nation that stands behind and protects its people.
