So what that John McCain has pets. He's not at home taking care of them while he is travelling all over the country. That borders on animal abuse, because you know his wife is not home taking care of the pets in his absence.

People need to stop trying to hate on Barack Obama and focus on real issues.

Pets require a lot of time which neither candidate has when campaigning 24/7, but maybe the Obama's could have a small dog or cat -- their children are old enough to care for them. Good for McCain in having so many pets. There are thousands of pets in shelters and pounds that need homes.

Actually, people that have pets are usually loving, caring, and sensitive to other people. It DOES tell a lot about someone. And the person who says it is abuse to leave them while they are campaigning---wouldn't that imply Obama is abusing his children?

Too many times, I have seen people with a lot of pets and they mistreat them. So what does that say about them? Use your brains people--please. Judge a person by how they treat others. and stop believing every little thing you read on the internet and hear on the fu**in NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obama doesn't have the compassion in his heart for pets. He is too arrogant and self-centered to love and care for animals. His Muslim roots may have something to do with this as well.

The REAL reason Obama does have pets and especially a dog is because he is Muslim. Muslims consider dogs to be unclean. And here's another thought.....I am very leery of anyone who dislikes house pets and especially the love and companionship of a dog. There are many studies concerning the personalities of people that dislike or harm dogs or other house pets. And, it generally points to a character flaw regarding respect for nature and humans; and the important fact on how to love.........creatures dependent upon humans for survival.

Come on people, are you serious? Do you really think that pet ownership should trump a candidate's position on issues like health care, Iraq, the economy and global warming? You have to wonder about the intelligence of the American electorate? And of course, those who continue to contend that Obama is a Muslim, when it is so easily disproven, leave no room at all for doubt that people on psych wards see a different reality than the rest of us.

Proper love and care of an animal takes a lot of time and effort. You don't just leave an animal home all day every day unless they have a companion and a young dog needs a lot of training. Most dogs need an hour walk a day and social time with other dogs. I can attest that giving up a dog is beyond heart breaking. Animals have personalities, needs and desires just like us and many should not be around small children without supervision. I praise Barack and Michelle Obama for recognizing the seriousness of accepting another life into their family. Now when they do get a dog please make it a rescued dog. There are so many wonderful dogs looking for a homes.
