Maliki Endorses Obama's Iraq Plan

Here's the quote that's sure to make ripples in the American political pond:
"U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama talks about 16 months. That, we think, would be the right timeframe for a withdrawal, with the possibility of slight changes."
Who said it? Iraq's Prime MInister, Nuri al-Maliki. What was the context? An interview with Germany's popular magazine Der Spiegel. This can't be what John McCain wants to hear, especially with Obama about to arrive in Iraq, and then make his way to Germany. It's just more evidence of how McCain's dare is about to backfire. More Maliki:
Here's the Obama campaign's response, as delivered by Susan Rice:
"The Americans have found it difficult to agree on a concrete timetable for the exit because it seems like an admission of defeat to them. But it isn't."
"Senator Obama welcomes Prime Minister Malaki's support of a 16 month timeline for the redeployment of U.S. combat brigades. This represents an important opportunity to transition to Iraq responsibility, while restoring our military and increasing our commitment to finish the fight in Afghanistan."

Why would anyone indorse anything Obama has to say?
He has no concept of the political machine set up in Washington.
He says what he knows the public wants to hear.
But he'll change his mind when the time is right.

Someone just sent me this link to a comprehensive video covering Barack Obama. In it...is a complete history of where he came from, what he thinks, things he's said (in his OWN voice) and I'm sure he hoped that they would be lost and forgotten forever, but someone has captured them and put them on this shocking video for all to see and hear. It is called "Connect The Dots."Please watch and listen to this video and share it with others. It is the only way we can wake people up in time and try and stop this "Changeling" from overtaking the White House in November.God help us all...!!!http://www.eyeblast.tv/Public/Video.aspx?rsrcID=2036

Obama has been ahead of the curve constantly when it comes to Iraq and Afghanistan. He was right in calling our attack on Iraq a "stupid war". He was right in saying that we need to concnetrate on Afghanistan when McCain was still focusing on Iraq. And now the Iraq PM is saying that his 16 month timeline is right. Experience only works if you have the brains to use it. Obamam is showing that brains leads the way.

Davey you did not just pull some clip out of a speech and weave your own context around it (but that's what you did if you don't recognize sarcasm) All that clip does is say he is okay with a 16 month timetable, and it doesn't even mention anything specific. And your headline for this post? Seriously. It sounds as if you have a full interview to back up your title, and when we get here, it's all of two sentences that say absolutely nothing really. Get your tongue out of Barry's mouth and your keyboard out of our cyber space. You've been lobbying for Barry when he stepped foot in Iowa, and you bashed Hillary to no end. If your such a fan, grwo some grapes and go to Afghanistan and Iraq yourself and report. Then again, looks like your pretty out of shape (shows in the face Davey) and can't handle any hike that doesn't go downhill. Sorry to tell you, and it's obviously too late, but those soy lattes you fill your big old belly up with at Starbucks? The soy has almost as many calories as regular milk. And for you people who think Barry is "ahead of the curve", he voted against the surge, but it did the job. The only thing "ahead of the curve" is him acting as if he's already been sworn in. This is why I left the Dem party. It reeks of cronyism, and try telling a Barry supporter you voted for Hillary Clinton. They spew so much anger and hate on you that it's no wonder people don't like Barry.

Rick-------Why endorse Obama? Because in most cases he has been right! You can't sit there and say he doesn't have any experience on foreign policy and the issues in Iraq when he has worked so close with Senators Biden and Webb. Have you seriously listened to McCain? Now that is a man with real problems.

Sandy.....exactly what foreign affairs issues has Obama worked on with Biden and Webb? In fact he has never even chaired a meeting on Afghanistan...a committe he is chairman of!

All those in favor of more US troop and civilian fatalities in Iraq at a cost of even more than $3 trillion, in the name of non-existent WMDs (or even in the name of oil...bwahhahaha...look what's happened to oil prices since our invasion), please have the huevos to say it here. Six years ago Obama predicted the exact quagmire Bush/McCain got us into. Since then, he's urged diplomacy there and in Iran. Repubs: "No, that's too girly. Can't talk to the axis of evil." McCain: "I wanna bomb, bomb, bomb Iran. I wanna call my wife a 'trollop' and a 'c - - t.' I wanna hurl more F-bombs at my Congressional colleagues, I wanna pick more foreign countrymen up by their collars during sensitive negotiations." McCain dared Obama to go, now his campaign denigrates the trip. A week or so ago, McCain accuses Maliki of playing politics with his (Maliki's) reference to getting the US out of HIS country, and now Maliki like's Obama's plan. Obama has a better "hit ratio" of making judgments and decisions, but whatever tack Obama takes, he can't-win-for-winning in the eyes of McCain or his backers.

Obama is a small shiny object that the easily fascinated can stare deeply into his blank sheen and see..... their own reflections.. He can be anything to anyone because he is nothing in particular...
Obama is a media creation..
It’s hilarious how he’s touting “his experience as chairman of a subcommittee on European affairs,” which sadly hasn’t held a hearing “since he assumed the “chairmanship nearly a year ago.”
And with regards to his criticism of others support for a resolution that would (and did) designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization, it’s important to point out that he “cosponsored legislation in April that called on the Secretary of State to do exactly that.”
Of course, he didn’t say a word before the vote either, it was only after the votes were cast that he ‘opposed’ it suddenly.
What a phony.
Obama's understanding of foreign policy is extraordinarily limited. He has had one job in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee: chairman of the Europe and NATO subcommittee. He has not held a single policy hearing in that capacity because, as he said in a debate, he has been too busy running for president. He has not even taken a fact-finding trip until now or provided any other oversight.
Jim2:02PMJul 19th 2008
Obama is A PHONY..
Speaking to national audience, Obama said he voted against the war (or actually would have) and then voted to fund the war on several occasions when he actually could have voted against it
rebecca2:15PMJul 19th 2008
Danyal...The point of all this is: The Iraqis have asked for a timetable. Bush, Cheney, McCain are all against a timetable for withdrawal. The Iraqis do not welcome permanent US military bases inside their borders. Bush, Cheney, McCain are all insisting on permanent bases. Obama has been in front of the learning curve in regards to Iraq since before the war began and he remains there. Maliki simply agrees and backs Obama's plan because it aligns with the wishes of his people while Bush, Cheney and McCain's do not.

Obama has someone feeding him information now that makes him "appear" as if he knows what he is talking about. Why else was he a half step ahead of Petraeus who is a commander on the ground making real life decisions for our troops?..Petraeus isn't going to let some un experienced wannabe president dictate to him what the next moves will be!....http://www.vetsforfreedom.org/multimedia/details.aspx?id=322
Tuffyz2:33PMJul 19th 2008
It is beyond believable that "suddenly" Obama has developed the experience required to be commander in chief....Is this guy for real???....I cannot be the only one noticing that Obama's "talks" are looking more and more like he is compromising current military strategy and is very possibly becoming a threat to national securty.....http://www.vetsforfreedom.org/multimedia/details.aspx?id=305

Re: CNN's coverage of the campaign (aka CORONATION) lately:
I used to respect Anderson Cooper...until he starting sipping some of that Obama Kool Aid...along with the rest of the crew at CNN.
Breaks my heart...
However...bless his heart...Lou Dobbs has abstained from the "free punch" and is still his own man. He doesn't hesitate to call a "spade a spade" (no pun intended) and has frequently slapped Obama down as arrogant and "who does he think he is...demanding that we all learn to speak Spanish in this country, etc?"
Right on...Lou. My man... :>)
