Videos of the Week - PUMA Powered Edition
Jul 20th 2008 11:10AM
Filed Under:eHillary Clinton, John McCain, Videos of the Week
Welcome to an all-new Videos of the Week. I've been writing about PUMA all week (click here if you missed it), so it seemed natural to dedicate this week's VOTW to the passionate former Clinton supporters, and their wayward sister, The Anti PUMA.
This is a surprisingly rich topic, but I also saved room for some new hilarity from Barely Political, more McCain madness, The Onion gets in on the values voter issue, and an outbreak of substance on The View.
First up is a clip of a PUMA rally in San Francisco. I'm sure you would agree, aside from badly needing some chanting lessons, the PUMAs put on a good show.
Next up is a truly hilarious video (with an overly long intro) that has to do with PUMA Action Pants? Huh?
I love that video soooo much. I wonder who those girls are voting for?
This next clip is PUMA's introduction to the world, featuring Will Bower. It is the funniest thing I've ever seen. OK, that may be overstating it a little. You tell me.
Wow, taken to the woodshed by Cavuto! How embarrassing. They should stick with Darragh for all of their TV spots. She knows how to put a professional gloss on this.
OK, let's take a PUMA break to check out the latest from my pals at Barely Political. Here's their take on that New Yorker cover.
It's 3am. Your children are sleeping. There's a computer in the White House, it's saying, "You've Got Mail," and John McCain keeps walking out to the curb in his pajamas to check the mailbox.
This next clip features the much-talked-about clip from The View. Most of the attention has been focused on the fact that Elizabeth Hasselbeck cried during the clip, but I'm more interested in what she had to say.
This dovetails with my own view, but I would add that, for now, it's our job to explain it to our kids. The black community has legitimate voices on both sides of the issue, and they will surely have to work it out. While others are certainly entitled to their opinions on the matter, it is ultimately not our place to lecture black folks on the use of a word that was taught to them by torturers, and is seen by some as a vestige of defiance to them.
Time to lighten things up with The Onion. The big copycats did a PUMA video of their own this week.
'No Values Voters' Looking To Support Most Evil Candidate
Wait, sorry, those people aren't quite as self-destructive as the PUMAs. Sorry.
Here's a genuine PUMA video. As I said earlier, Darragh Murphy is much more adept at making this whole thing seem less marginal. It helps to have an uncritical Fox anchor leading the questioning. Hey, they do go on Fox a lot, don't they? Huh. Imagine that.
This week, we all learned a little bit more about John McCain's sense of humor, with the revelation that he believes women like to be raped, especially by animals. That's how he makes people laugh, but what makes him laugh?
Was that a PUMA Daily Growl, too?
I want to include one of the many PUMA slide shows, because I think they display the real tragedy at work here. These are Hillary Clinton pictures, mixed with PUMAganda shots and set to music, and they show the deep affection and sense of loyalty that many of these supporters feel for Hillary, admirable qualities that are being twisted and used against them by McCain, as he relies on PUMA to "beat the bitch."
To conclude, I give you a video player, chock full of hilarious John McCain Green Screen Challenge videos. Enjoy, and I will see you next week.

Maliki now says that his comments about reducing troops in Iraq were mistranslated by the German magazine Der Spiegel. Check out the article below:

The Early Word: Maliki Backs Off Support of Obama Plan
By Michael Falcone
As Senator Barack Obama continues his trip to the Middle East and Europe, Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki has moved to clarify statements that he supports Mr. Obama’s plan to withdraw most American troops from Iraq over 16 months.
A spokesman for Mr. al-Maliki said that the comments the prime minister made to the German magazine Der Spiegel were “misunderstood and mistranslated'’ and were not “conveyed accurately.” The spokesman, Ali al-Dabbagh, did not elaborate on that explanation but did say that statements made by Mr. al-Maliki or members of the Iraqi government should not be taken as a sign of support for any presidential candidate.

To all Democrats-in-Exile and Independents for McCain:
Send contributions to McCain before September. See why in the article below:
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
"Faced with cap, McCain...needs to use funds before receiving federal money
From AP, updated 6:21 a.m. CT, Sun., July. 20, 2008
McCain plans to accept public financing for the general election — an $84 million infusion that prevents him from raising private money for his fall campaign. That means he has to spend all the money he raises between now and the Republican national convention in early September."

As a barely 18 year old in 1970 I took a Woman's studies class taught by Dr Roberta Salper in the first Woman Studies department in the country. Having the sweetest, most adored dad and brothers imaginable and a natually liberated outspoken strong mother it was hard for me to buy into all arguments of female oppression. My mother let us know in no uncertain terms that she was my dad's equal and his salary was her's too. I did see a need for equal encouragement and oppotunity for all. Woman and men have a right to follow their dreams. Many years later I married a man whose father dominated his mother. Luckily his father had no daughters because she might have seen the world through very different glasses. I know other families where the mother rules the roost and the father is dominated. To say Barack Obama didn't will the election is seeing things through your own glasses and not the rules set forth by the Democratic National Committee. That is what they are there for, to make things as fair as possible which they did.

Jemimah,
"Rednecker" is your handle, not mine. LOL. So, that's a "no" on substantive conversation?
auntjemimah4:16PMJul 20th 2008
t.c. and thats a no on your popularity poll ? whats your problem with rednecks ? i am sure farmers would like to know. but, alas they are mostly republicans. or, are you tring to insinuate that "rednecks" are some kind of inferior people ? just like you tried to do with auntjemimah ? whats wrong with waffle syrup or did you think it meant something racial ? dear me, i think you may have been race baiting, werent you. or do you just have some white guilt issues ? well, i am really off for now, keep busy with your biased blogs and keep the faith that somehow obama will be the "one"......the one that never happened. syanara

Christopher knew he was being insulting by showing the first video he posted in the middle of the comment section, and I guess that's why he took it down.
Tommy Christopher5:12PMJul 20th 2008
Crystal,
I didn't take anything down.

So you think it's OK for the DNC to TAKE Hillary's delegates and give them to Obama? You think that's fair eh?
And those dominating men are now called 'control freaks'
