McCain Is Frivolous For Calling Obama Frivolous
Aug 4th 2008 2:48AM
Filed Under:eBarack Obama, John McCain, Featured Stories, 2008 President, Ken Layne's Outrage
How dumb can it get?John McCain is the fading celebrity who turned his Vietnam imprisonment into a series of best-selling books, a second marriage to a pretty young beer heiress, a TV bio-pic and a lucrative three-decade career in Congress that led to his current starring role as the GOP nominee for president.
So what does his campaign choose as an issue? The popularity of his much younger, more talented political opponent, Barack Obama. The worst part is that Obama's campaign is paying attention to that angry old guy yelling "Get off my lawn!"
It's a sad monument to American Dumbness when Paris Hilton's mom provides a better overview of McCain's campaign than any profressional political pundit.
But that's what happened Sunday, when Kathy Hilton posted her angry reaction to the McCain campaign's TV commercial comparing the vapid fame of Paris and Britney Spears to the appeal Barack Obama has for people tired of crooked old Reagan-era politicians.
"It is a complete waste of the money John McCain's contributors have donated to his campaign," Mrs. Hilton wrote at the Huffington Post. "It is a complete waste of the country's time and attention at the very moment when millions of people are losing their homes and their jobs. And it is a completely frivolous way to choose the next President of the United States."
Unmentioned in Kathy Hilton's tirade was that her own billionaire family had contributed heavily to McCain's presidential campaign -- patriarch William Barron Hilton has given more than $50,000 to McCain and the GOP this year, while Paris' dad (and Kathy's husband) Rick Hilton contributed nearly $7,000 to McCain's effort.
It would seem like just another stumble in John McCain's road to November 4, just another applesauce explosion or green-screen punchline, but lately the Obama campaign is reacting to this stuff, rather than setting the agenda. It's as if Kermit the Frog stopped the show and started responding to those cranky old fossils in the balcony seats.Kathy Hilton, of all people, notes that millions of Americans are losing their homes and their jobs. Nearly 50 million people lack basic medical insurance. America is bogged down in a six-year war in Iraq that McCain would love to see go on for a century. Meanwhile, America is on the run in Afghanistan, where we supposedly landed seven years ago to prosecute an "easy war" against Al Qaeda.
Gas is $4 a gallon and heating oil is $5 a gallon -- lots of people in New England and the Great Lakes can't afford to buy their winter heating fuel. Our bridges are collapsing and our highways are pitted with potholes. American kids, if they manage to graduate high school at all, are graduating as semi-literate fat slobs with no prospects for anything beyond Type 2 diabetes and swollen legs covered in flame tattoos.
This nation is falling down. Barack Obama may or may not be able to do anything about that, but at least he has plans. John McCain's economic policy consists of repeating Ronald Reagan's dim promises of the early 1980s, when America suffered its worse economic collapse since the Great Depression.
When even the richest of the Republican Rich argue against John McCain's weird joke of a campaign, you can bet your nonexistent home equity that we're in trouble deep.

Its breathtaking and sickening that after eight years of pure madness under Republican rule that John Bush McCain can even whisper criticism of Obama.

Kathy Hilton is dead on with her comments. I have said on many occasions, that John McCain obviously has no plans. He cannot stop talking about the surge; inexperience, knowledge and vision of Sen. Obama. I have yet to hear him talk about what he plans to do in a failing economy. He has yet to formulate a plan concerning the Middle East other than continuing the the failed policies of the Bush Administration. In short, John McCain cannot think for himself and is evident by the fact the keeps ridiculing Sen. Obama. How can he concentrate on the issues if all he thinks about is the "surge", and making negative comments and asking questions like, "Why doesn't Sen. Obama doesn't admit he was wrong about the surge". But like Sen. Obama, I too wonder what would have happened if Sen. Obama's suggestion had won out over the surge? Since Sen. Obama's vision regarding, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the draw down of troops with a defined time line, maybe if he had been listened to, we would have made more progress against the Taliban and Al Qaeda. But as it stands, we will never know because those with so called "experience" never even considered it!

I would like to mention too, that the UCMJ specifically states, "If a soldier becomes a prisoner of war (POW) the only information to be divulged is name, rank and serial number". This information is drilled into the minds of recruits during basic training and is a court martial/firing squad offense during the time of war if other information regarding troop strength, family members, location and type equipment comrades have and other pertinent information that could be used by the ehemy. Apparently John McCain did not get this training before he was captured. "Hero", I am not sure about that one...I certainly am not alluding to anything, but when such information other than specificied by the UCMJ is divulged, one needs only to draw his own conclusion! Enough said!

Some act like heathens because they've never been to church one day in their lives. At least he was in a church worshiping God. Why is he staying, why is he leaving. What religion is John McCain, no one has ever said and with his foul mouth his religion is probably kkk.

Another smear by a wanna be writer. The very same that wrote a book to smear Kerry.
I think the author should be burned at the stake for engaging in witchcraft.

Good for Kathy Hilton.
She donated money to McCain's campaign to be used for serious campaigning and all she got was her daughter smeared again.
The Republicans are laughing and joking while middle American is looking for jobs to put food on the table and pay the mortgage. Maybe all Republicans have jobs (probably in the Government).

April Fool's Joke8:58AMAug 4th 2008
On April 1, 2008, John McCain offered Americans another April Fool's joke, proclaiming I'm not running on the Bush presidency. McCain might want to check his campaign's position papers. After all, in his eternal quest for the Republican nomination McCain has adopted virtually the entire Bush agenda, often reversing long held positions and compromising supposed core principles. From Iraq, tax cuts for the wealthy, broken promises on the deficit to opposition to SCHIP, tax credits for health care, overturning Roe v. Wade and a right-wing Supreme Court, without question John McCain represents a third Bush term.

McCain has a firm opinion until Carl Rove Calls him up and reads him the riot act. Then he forgets what he said!

It is so sad that after 8 years of the worst administration in American history we're still taking talking point from Rove's people and paying any attention to the republican smear machine. Don't we have proof enough that smearing in the only thing they are effective at? Isn't it time to focus in other issues, such as the economy, the end of endless wars, and actually intelligent national security?

Poll: McCain's attack strategy paying dividends
AP

WASHINGTON (AP) - John McCain's political offensive against Barack Obama appears to be paying off in the polls.
With a slew of negative ads aimed at Obama, the Republican candidate has effectively erased the Illinois senator's nine-point lead in a national survey. Yesterday's Gallup poll suggests the candidates are tied at 44 percent apiece.

MCCAIN EXCUSES HIMSELF FOR SUPPORTING A WAR THAT
WAS A MISTAKE THAT THE COUNTRY VIEWS AS WRONG, SO
HE'S THE LAST ONE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT SURGES.
HE IGNORES TAKING RESPONSIBLITY FOR HIS VICIOUS
LITTLE OLD MAN WAYS, AND PRETENDING HE'S ONE OF
THE PEOPLE. HE'S ALSO A MILLIONAIRE WHO WEARS
$500 SHOES AND ACTS LIKE ONE OF THE BOYS. NEVER.
NEVER THINK FOR A MINUTE HE'S NOT A POLITICIAN WHO
DID VERY LITTLE IN THE PAST TWENTY YEARS EXCEPT
RIDE ON THE BACKS OF OTHERS. TODAY, HE ACTS LIKE
HE'S A NEW KID ON THE BLOCK WHEN HE'S BODY AND SOUL
A BUSH MAN. IF ELECTED, MCCAIN ONLY KNOWS WAR BECAUSE
IT WAS WAR THAT GAVE HIM AN ELECTED JOB. IF HE CAME
OFF THE STREET, HE'D BE IN SOME OIL CORPORATION
WORKING IN A FIELD.
THE ONLY THING THAT REALLY MATTERS IN THIS ELECTION
ON ISSUES IS ONE THING AND THAT IS MCCAIN SUPPORTED
A WAR THAT WAS WRONG IN THE FIRST PLACE AND HE HASN'T
OWNED UP TO THAT MISTAKE, WHILE THE PUBLIC HAS.
ANYONE WHO DID VOTE FOR THAT WAR SHOULD BE OUSTED
FROM POLITICS AND THAT'S IT. HIS CAMPAIGN PEOPLE
HIDE THE FACT THAT THE COUNTRY IS IN BAD SHAPE
BECAUSE OF ITS LEADERSHIP.
THAT SHOULD BE THE ONE AND ONLY ISSUE THAT THE
PUBLIC SHOULD VOTE ON.
IF OBAMA CAN CHANGE THE ECONOMY AND OFFER A BETTER
FORM OF GOVERNMENT, HE'S YOUNG AND INTELLIGENT
ENOUGH TO DO THAT. HE HASN'T BEEN CORRUPTED YET
AS A POLITCIAN.
LET'S PUT THE 'MY FRIENDS' GUY IN A RETIREMENT
MODE WHERE HE CAN SPEND HIS MONEY AND HIS WIFE'S
MONEY IN A LEISURE, HARMLESS LIFE.
IF YOU WANT WAR AND MORE WAR AND MORE WAR, VOTE
FOR THE MAN WHO LIVES IT AND THAT'S MCCAIN.

The right wing cult group want to destroy this country. They have us already about $10 trillion in debt and counting. They have our children in endless wars. And they are using smear and lie campaign method again.
Iris10:21AMAug 4th 2008
Obama should expose McCain's offshore drilling for what it really is, pandering. He's got to show what a flip flopper McCain is on this issue, and why it won't really be good for the country. Obama has got to show the attacks by the Republicans against him are because they've no real solutions, and he's got to keep pounding home were in this trouble because of Republican economic, domestic and foreign relation policies. I really like the line that Obama has been using about all of McCain's ads have been attacks on Obama but not how to solve the problems of America. He needs to keep using that line and then Obama needs to go into his solutions for America.

Mr.Lane is correct, but the entire campaign thus far is idiotic. McCain comes across as a dodering old man who really shouldn't be in this position and Obama, albeit an intelligent has associaed with some very dubious people in the ast and is now acting like a prima donna.
