Bill Clinton Mad
Wow:
Mr Obama is expected to speak to Mr Clinton for the first time since he won the nomination in the next few days, but campaign insiders say that the former president's future campaign role is a "sticking point" in peace talks with Mrs Clinton's aides.
The Telegraph has learned that the former president's rage is still so great that even loyal allies are shocked by his patronising attitude to Mr Obama, and believe that he risks damaging his own reputation by his intransigence.
A senior Democrat who worked for Mr Clinton has revealed that he recently told friends Mr Obama could "kiss my ass" in return for his support.
You stay classy, Mr. Ex-President. Now what do you think are the chances of Obama doing anything like this. I'm pretty sure his response would be, "You first, Bill."
Rice in Baghdad, Praises Reconciliation Law
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice parted company with President Bush in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday and traveled to Baghdad, Iraq, for a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. Rice was on hand to update Maliki on the president's Middle East trip and to congratulate the Prime Minister on the passage of a key law that the Bush Administration hopes will begin the process of political reconciliation at the national level in Iraq.Iraq's parliament passed a measure last week designed to allow former low-ranking members of Saddam Hussein's Baath Party to once again hold government positions. De-baathificaiton, as it was called, was brought about by a decree of Coalition Provisional Authority head Paul Bremer in the months after the fall of the Hussein regime. The policy served to alienate many Sunni groups from the central government and may have contributed to the growth and support of the insurgency in the Sunni center of the country. The new law is expected to more fully integrate Sunni groups, which since the troop surge began have been siding with Iraqi and Coalition forces against al-Qaeda led and inspired insurgent groups, into the day-to-day operations of the central government.
