Oldest 'Footprints' on Earth Found

Scientists say they've found the world's oldest-known footprints in what was once a shallow sea in Nevada. The tracks -- two parallel rows of small dots -- were apparently left by an aquatic creature in rock dated to 570 million years ago. "This was truly an accidental discovery," one researcher says.

Many of the 300 or so people missing after Hurricane Ike devastated the Gulf Coast of Texas were last heard in desperate, last ditch calls for help. George Helmond of Galveston watched the water rise and told a buddy: I was born on this island and I'll die on this island. Gail Ettenger told a friend in a final phone call: I really messed up this time.
