Drilling in Alaska would never bring us the oil that we demand--nuclear power plants are fine--but who would want them in their backyard? Some of you are like Bush--all talk and no thinking. He went into Iraq for the foothold for oil flow to this country. It didn't work--It won't work unless we send 500,000 troops and station them there--forever. How many of you are willing to send your son or daughter do put their lives on the line for America's love affair with oil? My son is just back from Iraq---I would never wish that time he was there on any parent. Oil is the issue and this is why Bush won't push diplomacy with these radicals---because it's about oil--not about protecting this great country.

What makes me wonder is why many of the oil rigs off our coasts have been shut down? I have heard workers on the oil rigs have lost their jobs, the big companies have shut most of them down. THE USA is not producing our own oil, TO RAISE THE PRICE. Bush being an OIL MAN wants to get the price as high as he can before he leaves office. This will make BILLIONS for the oil companies. Once they re-start production at an outrageous per barrel oil price, they will be in the money! EVERYONE STOP BUYING GAS FROM JUST 1 COMPANY EXXON/MOBIL with their BILLIONS AND BILLIONSOF PROFIT for the first quarter 2008, would make the price drop. If NOBODY bought gas from Exxon/Mobil what would happed to the price? The oil company would be overwhelmed with a major overstock of gas and the price wouyld drop like a rock. BOYCOTT EXXON MOBIL THEY ARE RIPPING OFF THE PEOPLE OF THE USA! Go look at their profits and you will see what I mean, they made the MOST PROFIT EVER. MORE PROFIT THAN ANY 1 COM

Carter was not a great president, but he was honest and intelligent, which is what we are missing now.
BUT most important, he stated we needed to start conserving, which we have not done.

The Democrats and their environmental supporters have been responsible for our dependence on foreign oil. No drilling in Alaska, no drilling off shore, no coal to oil, no nuke plants, and no new plants to refine oil in 35 years. Now we can only go to OPEC and the Saudis begging for more oil. When the Dems come up with a windmill to put on top of our cars to replace gas, then we can stop drilling for our own oil.
