my contract is up for renewal.......wise to do another 2 year contract???????????????

The companies said they need to charge these early termination fees to recoup their investment in signing up customers and discounted phones. That’s fine with me!!! BUT, when they charge the same fee 18 months into a 24 month contract as they do 3 months into said contract, that’s double dipping and should be outlawed. That’s my two cents.

even though i told sprint why i wanted out of the contract, due to no reception at home, they still made me pay $175.00 to get out of the contract.

Utilities Companies Are Crooked And Evil. And That Goes For The Phone Companies Too!

ffoxxx 10:09:37 AM May 21 2008

I switched to Tmobile from ATT after about 12 years because Tmobile was cheaper. Well, I have found out why. I do not get SERVICE!!!! I usually have to go outside and I never get service at work or in stores and I never had a problem with ATT, ever. I called them to tell them and they suggested I take my device to get looked at. Come to find out, not one person I work with, who uses Tmobile, gets service at work! Had I known, I would not have switched. I got them to change my contract from 2 years to 1 year due to poor service and I had to fight for it but at least I wont have to pay early terminationi fees!

Don't be so arrogant. Not all people are able to continue with the phone or contracts they signed. While it is true they signed, for whatever reason, a good sales pitch maybe, these companies are very slick with the selling techniques. It is very easy to be sucked in.
As for the government stepping in, it would be chaos if standard rules were not in effect.
As for calling them "deadbeats" thats just as bad as me calling you "an arrogant pratt" but I would not do that? See YOUR comment below.

Report This!

All these people signed the contract didn't they? That should be a binding agreement between the customer and the company. I don't think the government has any business regulating contracts. Somehow I think that customers that pay their bills on time, like me, are going to end up paying more for the deadbeats...yet again.

Why should anyone be tied into a contract when service is miserable or lousy? I'm all for abiding by contracts, but when your forced to stay with a company and the company is providing lousy service, it defies the imagination as to why should anyone stay. I don't see these very same companies fixing the problems, they just want the money. I call it GREED.

Verizon is the sleeziest group of lying scumbags on this planet. The worst service and even worse employees. Class action lawsuits should go forth until this company learns there are consequences to their actions.

al l these contracts for 2 years and canceling fees.....sure going to come back to bite them...
