IN 1986, the federal government set up an improved vaccine reaction reporting system, which depends on physicians’ reports. The U.S. Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System receives between 12,000 and 14,000 reports of hospitalizations, injuries, and deaths following vaccination every year. The National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act went into law in 1986. However, parents of vaccine-injured children criticize the law’s implementation because three out of four applicants are turned away. With government lawyers and health officials fighting every claim, more than $1 billion lies idle in a vaccine injury trust fund. Still, under the act, more than $1 billion has been paid to 1,000 families whose members has judged, were harmed by routine vaccinations. The majority of the awards have been for DPT-vaccine related brain damage or death, with a lesser number for MMR and polio vaccine reactions.

Stop letting the doctors Immunize you children for so called school and when there infants. It's a crock. they say that you have to but you can refuse it and they can't keep your child from going to school.. Read the fine print people. Ever since they started injecting children with this crap in the 50's , the rate of these type of from autism to asbergers has steadily climbed. Do your research and you'll be amazed what you come up with. We trust doctors, fda and our government way to damn much...

I don't think vaccinations have anything to do with the rise in autism or anything to do with autism. We have too many things that we ingest or wear or spray that would be more the cause. Look at the toys from China with toxins in them. I think it is more what parents have eaten, drank or sprayed if anything is to blame for the rise. Plastic is supposed to cause cancer when it is heated and yet bottles are plastic. Diapers are made with things that are petroleum based material. Lawyers are great for starting a case from nothing.

The ambulance chasing attorney's are just playing on the emotions of the parents. People will believe whatever they want too. They show them a study which proves their point but leave out the fact their was only a small controlled group in the study. That's not a legitimate study and not fair to the parents of these children looking for an answer. They could only find two children for this lawsuit from the Millions of kids who were vaccinated? What does that tell you?Numerous legitimate Study's have shown there is no link between autism and the vaccines. Yet people, including one poster here put their children at risk of serious disease and death by not vaccinating their children due to misinformation. Very sad.

Something else to think about is that they have likely been mis-diagnosing what was actually Autism for years. Now that they know more, Autism is being diagnosed for what it is. That could count for a significant part of what is being labeled an "Autism Outbreak."

I read a book written by a pediatrician, Dr. Robert Mendelsohn, entitled "How to Raise a Healthy Child in Spite of Your Doctor". Dr. Mendelsohn is vehemently against vaccinations. I did not vaccinate my children and I am so happy I did not. They are not called DRUGS fo no reason.

This is what I've heard and what I tend to believe. A lot of what non-autistic babies do is the same as some of the symptoms of an autistic child. While babies grow out of those traits and start producing new ones, the autistic child continues to exhibit the same behaviors and does not move forward as they should. It's not that they just came down with these symptoms. They were just revealed. I can respect a parents desire and drive to fight for their children and do whatever they can to help them, even though I feel that autism is genetic. (I have a nephew with autism and I work with autistic children every day.) Still, I am more concerned about toxins and growth hormones in food, etc., than I am about vaccines that my daughter had, who is a fully functioning child.
