To those of you who are fortunate to have typically developing children, maybe you should just meet (1) child who has Autism. My Autistic son is now 14 years old and we have spent hundreds of thousand of dollars on therapy, specialists and medication and are still spending weekly. My son goes to a special school, will never be able to go away to college or live on his own. He cannot experience the joys that most of you take for granted. I would never trade one moment of our life together, but the people who mouth off about it just being about money, don't have a clue. Our children are cheated daily out of the simple pleasures of life!!

It will take smarter people than I to figure out whether there is any connection between vaccinations and autism. But it is a simple matter to say that the consequences of not vaccinating would be many times worse than the dangers, if any, of doing so. That is not to say that we shouldn't always strive to increase the safety of the injections.

TO ALL THE IGNORANT PEOPLE WHO THINK THIS IS JUST ABOUT MONEY, MAYBE YOU TRY SPENDING SOME TIME IN THE SHOES OF THE PARENTS OF THE CHILDREN WHO HAVE AUTISM. IT IS HEARTBREAKING TO WATCH YOUR CHILD WANT SO BADLY TO MAKE FRIENDS OR PLAY WITH OTHER CHILDREN BUT NOT KNOW HOW. IF NOTHING ELSE COMES OF THIS, HOPEFULLY THE PHARM. COMPANIES WILL HAVE TO AT LEAST FUND MORE STUDIES TO THE CAUSE OF AUTISM. IT WOULD BE THE LEAST THAT THEY COULD DO CONSIDERING THE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS THEY ARE MAKING.

I have a 10 year old son with Autism > People who do not have an autistic child do not understand the pain we all go through > we are not Ambulance chasers, Nor do I like lawyers BUT When you take away a childs right ( your child / my child) to live a happy and normal life then it makes you search for the answers. Its no different than any other life crippling issue. The reason why no medical research that proves that vaccines cause autism is because of the law suits. For the people who do not have an autistic kid should speak louder than I because you are the ones helping foot the bill to support there education , housing and a right to live. This is a problem for all Not just the 1 in 94. And if your sick of the issue then turn off your TV because thats all your gonna hear for the next 15 years. You can either be part of the problem or the solution.

Isn't it odd that autisim has become so prevalent during the past 20 years. I dont think any of us should trust pharmaceutical companies. My father was an MD and his advice to me was to never take a drug that didn't have a 20 year study behind it. If we Americans would stop being so damned trusting we would be much better off. When my children were vaccinated we did it one at a time. If that isn't good enough for the doctors and drug makers, then tough! I know for sure that my grandchildren won't be going to any doctors who won't prescribe drugs that are proven to be safe,,,ie:,,,,,a 20 year study that backs it up!

And when you start to understand why they put in the Thimersol, it gets even more ludicrous. MONEY of course! The thimersol is a preservative so the batches of vaccines can stay viable longer. THEY have to remove it - period. So the drug companies have to make smaller batches that may have a lesser shelf life, big deal - less dollars - big deal. Get the stuff out of the vaccines. Where are our elected officials? What good are they? If there is even a small chance it is causing damage it needs to be removed! Who in their right mind thinks mercury in ANY amount should be ingested or injected? Time for people in this country to get angry and Loud.

The last thing the big drug companies and the gov want you to know is that they messed up. And would they ever readily admit it? Of course not! Do you know how many familes and young lives have been affected by this negligence, a hudge amount. This is not hereditary, this is pure and blatant medical negligence and the truth will come out soon, cause too may families have been affected by this in recent years. It's jsut sad that more children will be doomed to the same outcome until this does happen. Why would they do this unless there was reasonable doubt?

dana3333 and dtabel, learn before you speak. I have a 9 year old who was perfectly healthy and happy until being given more than a dozen shots before she was a year old (all with some of the mercury-thimerosol in them). Her eyes crossed suddenly and she quit talking and walking. Please do not act like you know what you're talking about. No one is fishing here or trying to get rich, but it'd be nice to be compensated for all of the money we had to spend on doctors and still do, much of which is not covered by health insurance. Mercury damages the neurological aspects of any life being. Veterinarians quit using mercury in medicines for animals 60 years ago. Seriously, think before you write.
