It is already known that the contaminated food originated in Mexico. It is being caused by the practice in Mexico of allowing cow grazing areas to be located in close proximity to areas where food is grown. Run-off of the cow feces then contaminates the food (yummy!). It is showing up now due to the increased unregulated importation of produce from Mexico.

With all these college kids of higher learning the o'l farmer says that is, you can rest assure all these kids are getting paid sitting on their ass ,trying to solve the problem. when it's just a good case of the hersey squirts that a good sitting in the outhouse would cure.

OUR GOV. KNOWS WHERE THIS IS COMING FROM BUT IS AFRAID TO HURT THE FEELINGS OF ANY OF OUR NEIGHBORS TO THE SOUTH. ITS OKAY FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO BE SICK AND DIE BUT DON'T EVEN MENTION OUR BELOVED NEIGHBORS THATS NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT. THROW THE BUMS OUT OF OFFICE, ALL OF THE INCUMBENTS, DEMS AND REPUBS. ALIKE.

Our country is becoming so lax about health and cleanliness in general because people just think you can take antibiotics or go to a hospital if you are sick and all is well ....several people in here are examples of that type thinking,,,like it is "no big deal" that we have this out break and that the peopple will just "get over it on their own or "take some medicine and get better" People can still die from this disease particularly if they are immune comprimised to begin with or the very old or the very young.Babies can be VERY ill from this disease and the medicine can also have toxic affects,,Also we have had resistant strains at times in this country in the 1980's there was a bad strain of Salmonella going around that was devastating the pediatric population.I know this becuase I toook care of them .So people please WASH your hands when ever you go to the bathroom..with soap and water...wash all your fruit and vegatables REALLY well....if you get sick with a fever and votiming a

by the way for your information Salmonella is nothing to sneeze at since it is also the same thing as Typhus.....just don;t like to call it that,,,,the bacteria is Salmonella Typhii,,,,,it is the bacteria that causes Typhoid fever..and the goverment is right to get strict about this outbreak....thank God we have antibiotics that kill it,,,Typhoid Mary was an asymtomatic carrier of Typhoid fever who worked in the food industry in the 1800's and infected and killed thousands by not washing her hands,,,It can sit in your gall bladder after infection which is what happened to her and then you sort of poop it out fron there...infecting people if you are not clean as in hand washing after using the bathroom..

There are much cheaper ways of killing a bunch of people than contaminating food with salmonella. This kind of think breaks out when the veggies get contaminated with poo, through the water source, the chef preparing the food, or some other means. There are plenty of tomatoes that you can still buy that aren't associated with the outbreak, and if you make sure you cook your food to the right temperature for long enough, you won't have to worry about anything anyhow. The first "wave" excluded, there are a bunch of people who don't watch the news or flat out didn't care about the precautions. Most of them will feel bad for a week or less, and then recover completely on their own with no medical attention. This is so overblown. And now you people are using it to push your own completely unrelated views (Mexicans suck, Bush sucks, our military sucks, whatever) Get over it.
