For those who don't know-THOSE MEDS do work- it is just that it takes a year an a half sometimes to get them regulated so that they don't make you feel physically ill. They alter brain chemistry. You can't drink alchohol with them, something most young people see as a right of passage. You have to maintain a healthy diet, take vitamins as some of them cause certain vitamin losses. You have to keep a rigid schedule in taking them. If the ones you're on are amking you feel bad, you need to call your doctor and he can give you something else or adjust your dosage to lessen the effects. They are cumulative. That means they accumulate in your system until they reach a certain point and then you have to keep the levels at that point to work, therefore you need to cut back sometimes based on the medication levels. It sometimes takes a month for your system to adjust to the needed lavels, so you can't just stop them. you have to withdraw slowly is your doctor wants you to stop taking them. I h

Very sad. My heart goes out to the families of the innocent victims. Meds do work with people...sometimes too well. The people feel like they are fine and wrongly believe that they could do without the meds. Then, it's a downward spiral if they go off them without doctor approval/guidance. You can't force an adult to take their meds, so loved ones just stand by and watch helplessly at times. Perhaps this tragic incident will prevent even one person from stopping their meds without doctor approval.

Hmmm...if those meds were so effective, why did he stop taking them? Obviously they weren't working. How many times does this stuff happen? And alsways the excuse: he stopped taking his meds. They just don't work. It's a money making business. They're just a chemical version of lobotomies. The apparency is; look! he's not angry anymore, the actuality is: he's now apathetic due to the drugs. Eventually stuff like this happens, and has happened many times, and will continue.
Don't blame guns - that's like yelling at your wife cos you've got a flat tyre, or kicking the dog cos you had a bad day at work. Wrong target.

GUNS ARE THE QUICKER KILLER !!!

We hear excuses from the for profit gun lobby that other means could have been used to kill innocent students and faculty without the use of guns !!!

Sure the could !!!

But nothing is as quick and deadly as a gun !!!

This is a sad time being an alumni of NIU. My heart goes out to the victim's families and friends and I pray for the souls of the victims. When situations like this happen, this is when GOD can comfort hearts, relieve minds, and strengthen unity. We, as a nation and a people need to care about one another so this kind of behavior will not happen again at another university or community college. If you know someone that is acting STRANGE, tell someone immediately to get this person some help. You might save a life or lives. Lets continue to pray.

On December 30,2007 the murderer bought a HighPoint 380 and on
a prior visit on August 6,2007 bought a SigSauer from a Champaign.Illinois gun
shop. Then he returned to the same gun shop on February 9,2008 and bought
a Remington shotgun and a Clock 9mm handgun.
1. Why did the gun shop not recall the August and December purchases
when he returned in February 2008 and bought two more guns?
2. Why did the gun shop not question his purpose for that many guns bought
within a period of 6 months?
3. Why did the gun shop personnel not become concerned and reported these
purchases to the authorities?

BY DRIBS AND DRABS...

...the truth begins to emerge that the Illinois deranged home grown terrorist had a history of mental problems!

How was this history kept from the inneffective and error prone data bank of mentally ill persons who should not be permitted to purchase guns !!!

Statements to the effect that NOTHING could have been done to prevent this multiple tragedy from occurring is part of the cover up and propaganda sponsored by the National Rifle Association whose sole 2nd Amendment
ploy is purely a scam to help them double the 400 million in gun sales to 800 million !!!

They could have refused to sell guns to a buyer with mental problems !!!
