I can certainly see the satire in The New Yorker cover, but after reading several of these comments about Barack Obama, it is obvious that it just fuels the idiocy of the multitude of bigots in the U.S.! BTW, most of the troops appeared to give him an enthusiastic welcome. Way to go, Mr President !-----------------------------I'm sure the troops were told how to act. With the accent on the word ACT. There is always some element of truth in satire, and it's up to the individual to take it how they choose. It's moronic to say people who don't like Obama are bigots. There are plenty of reasons for people to not support Obama, but the only arguement the simple minded liberals like to use is racial.

How in the world can this man relate to the troops? He has never served his country in the military or has any idea what it is like to go into combat. He is a politician first and foremost. He will say and do anything that will get him elected. He tells us how bad the war is in Iraq and how he opposed it from day one. Then he says to the President of Afghanistan that if he is elected President he will send more troops to help them. People should vote with their hearts and not their eyes and ears. Hey jackd858, it is not very nice to call someone you do not know an idiot, especially when the name caller is dealing with such a limited IQ as you seem to have.

Hey, Obama, and the idiot CBS and NBC news media. You are obviously in the tank for Obama, so your credibility as far as fair reporting to Americans, is nothing but Bull$hit. Just because Obama is going on a little trip acting like he's already the president, does not make him qualified on Foreign policy. He's an arrogant ass, and an embarrassment.His air headed followers may fall for his grandios political campaign , but many of us won't. Stop trying to insult the intelligence of the American voter. We've got your number and it's "0". Obama should be here in America answering questions with some straight answers about important issues, that he's trying to avoid. Those European Country's he plans to visit are Socialists just like he is. If they really like you over there Obama, do us all a big favor and just stay over there.

How much is all this visiting "our troops" costing the tax payer.Why should we have to pay for extra security for these two, when they choose to "visit" our troops.Can anyone explain why we don't have a better choice than these two?Never in my 66 years, as a BORN AMERICAN, seen such a divided country.Neither will keep their word. Obama is a bigger idiot than I thought he was. First of all, you don't go around telling the Taliban, al-Qaida, or any other foreign enemy forces what you intend to do if you become the president. All he was supposed to do was collect facts...he was on a fact finding mission...and report his findings to the appropriate venues like the congress, the Pentagon, and the White House, not to criticize foreign countries like Pakistan or the Afghan President Karzai for "not getting out of the bunker to help the security institutions of his nation" and threaten what he would do if he was president, including setting timetables for getting our troops out of Iraq. Iraq tells President Bush that timetables are not a good idea, but tells Obama his plan of getting out in 16 months is a great idea???? What the hell is that????
