It's a SHAME that ALL these Economists (the weathermen of MONEY), are STUPID "masters of the OBVIOUS" We are a country that is like an aging person getting slow and forgetful. Other countries are like a young ambitious person that is replacing the old and in the way people in business (Americans... sob) I am 43 and am glad I caught some of the GOOD times in this country when it was OK to miss a call and not have an answering machine or beeper to bug me. The world kept spinning and life was much more meaningful (for what it's worth)
Now us Americans are reliant on cell phones, computers, and other tech junk that we BUY from these young countries that make tons of $$ on our inability to
produce ANYTHING ourselves !!!! And to make this downward spiral complete: WE KEEP BUYING THIS TECH STUFF TO KEEP AN EYE ON WHAT "BUYING" LIKE THIS IS DOING TO AMERICA'S ECONOMY !!!

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Will you be happy being a Third World? Take a break? What is that all about? Americans are the hardest working people in the world and bring in the highest GNP, to lose sight of that is self destructive.

Hey the world changes in many ways ! Economics included ! We have to be able to read these and predicate the next move ! We have competition my friends , we just have to have the leadership to make deals that work for everyone involved and at this point we dont ! Why should we think we should (as Americans) always be at the forefront of all things????? Hell, lets take the time to adress some serious issue here at home and le the rising economies take some of the burden of "giving and saving the world" while we revamp our economy to better meet or needs and alternative sources of economic growth that will keep us on the forefront of advancement without all the limelight that costs us so dearly with both no respect and no future respect with the countries we do so much business with ??? They want the stage??? let 'em have it !!! We need a break from being the world savior and we need some time to restructure .......!

There is no industrial output we assemble here, most manufacturing is done offshore. Automobile sales will start to pickup in July and explode when the 2009 models are introduced. What do most Americans do when they can not afford to purchase homes, they buy *Cars*

Nucor Steel is requesting permits to construct a mill on the MS River in LA. Hopefully it will receive the needed permits. Not talking 1000's of jobs, but it will employ approx 500 after mill completed. There will many people needed to build the facility also. I see this as a positive. Since the China earthquake, instead of importing so much of our scrap (which has caused a Big increase in the price of finished steel products, maybe they will be importing a US made product to rebuild some of their structures.
