The federal disaster program is a joke in the way it is operated. People in areas where it snows, are usually prepared for the typicle snow they get. A couple inches more or less does not constitute a disaster such as this "relief" was supposed to be. But yet when a true disaster strikes, they purchase billions of dollars worth of trailers which still sit rotting away unoccupied and claim red tape is the hold up, "NewOrleans" or tell helping volunteers they are unwanted. "Twin towers" And now they want to claim a national fiancial disaster for those people who bought what they could not afford, ignoring the fact that national debt is already in the deepest red ink ever. What's the plan? Rob the Social Security system of what little you haven't already?

Good, thats how its supposed to be,handled on a local level. The federal government should only provide national defense.

Hear this, hear that, there is more to this than presented in this article! Politics aside, has this country forgot that it is the constituents of the local community that should decide! More power to them for making up their own mind, at least according to their elected official!

"Township Trustee Steve Borowski disagrees with the decision, saying help from the federal government shouldn't be turned down."
Probably a Democrat. No government giveaway of taxpayer money is ever a bad thing. That may be why we are in the fiscal condition we are in today - government never suspends a handout program whether it works or not - the press just keep spinning the checks out. Have you gotten your election year handout stimulus check?
