More $$ for the drug companies....If the Gov thinks we should get their medicine, why can't they negotiate a better deal to insure this illness prevention??

Is it that common to get them a second time.............I am 60 and I had shingles when I was 40.....it was HORRIBLE !!! Should I get the vaccine if I had them already?

I asked my doctor about the shot months ago and he said if I ever got them again to come in and get the shot in the beginning.............I wonder if it would even work then........Does anyone know is it that common to get shingles a second time..........I knew a doctor thst said he did...............

I had shingles around my neck area, and the doctor gave some liquid solution to sponge on, and to use surgical gloves, when handling my baby. I was bless that it was not so super painful. It felt like bees stinging on and off, and it was a red rash, that spread, until I stopped touching it. Thak Hod, I did not touch my eyes, nor did the baby get it. That was 28 years ago, and I am 65 now. Herpes Zoster was the name I remember.

I have had the Shingles and believe me you don't want it. It is very painful, I have a scar above my left eye, my doctor was very concerned that I was going to lose my sight in my left eye. I could not wash my hair the way we normally do. I had to bend over and my hair had to be hanging down to *******. My doctor gave me a prescription for Vicodin, the first week that I had it, I was on Vicodin, I could not function.

My mother had shingles in her 70's and I've never seen someone in worse pain. Pain pills didn't help. Plus she didn't like to take them. I'm wondering if it's permissible to get the shot before 60, i'm 57 and have enough pain thank you very much!

My insurance company said I had to buy the serum under Medicare Part D
and then take it to my docotor. My doctor won't do this because they said serum must be very cold. Does this make sense!! I want to get the shot. I am 69 years old.
Why can't Medicare work with doctors. Our health care system is screwed up.
