We can only judge the integrity of man, by how they treat their animals.

I am a Katrina survivor, and saw first hand the horrors of how the animals (and people) were treated. I am still haunted by it. If I had the means I would move to the mountains in another country where every living , feeling being, whether human or animal was treated with compassion. I am nothing but a grain of sand in the mountain of animal rescuers in the US and globally.

The levy damage in IA, excuse is nothing but a bunch of crap. After Katrina we had pigs living on the remaining levees, that were fed and cared for by the National Guard.

They tried to use an excuse here in St. Bernard Parish that the dogs were dangerous, by shooting the "tethered" dogs in the school shelters.....Most of the dogs that were shot were small, medium harmless dogs, including some cats, birds, puppies, also. My husband and I were the unfortunate ones to find them at PGT Beauregard Middle School, searching for a hearing ear do

sunnyone934 and tabcat73 - Extraordinary circumstances call for extreme measures. right now those folks are busy with surviving, collecting and planning to rebuild or move and restart. Their towns are/were at stake and the loss of a few pigs was considered minor. Really, Put yourself in their position. Stop the pigs from compromising the levees by shooting them or use precious resources and man power to lovingly pick up the piggies and place them somewhere. These people have no time to lose!

You are what you eat, so, I hope the swine who killed the pigs eat them. Then the pigs will get their sweet revenge because almost nothing is worse for a swine's health than eating lots of good ol' delicious grilled pig meat. this is horrible and saddening to me. I just don't understand why they couldn't get some kind of animal control of the non-lethal sort. I mean if Steve Irwin were still alive he could pull off his croc hunter skills and wrestle this ever so violent creatures. It seems like they could have some how captured them and then just transported them with the rest of the 35,000 pigs. these lil piggies went wee wee wee all the way home....
