it's much simpler actually. no one should be allowed to own these types of dogs. we as a society continue to let these dogs be involved in incidents like this. the only person who would let these types of dogs play with their kids is an idiot.

I think that people should go through some type of school/training before becoming dog owners. People should get some type of dog license or certification stating that they are competent and will take on full responsibility for the dog and the dog's behavior. Just like people......... dogs need love, trust, compassion, and discipline.

I don't know why people don't take care of their dogs more carefully! Dogs were once wild animals, and they still are to some level. You cannot expect an animal to be fully contained, trained, or reserved. Sooner or later, they wil show their true nature, as Mother Nature intended. Dogs don't mean to harm us. It is their natural instinct to hunt, survive, and kill. So what do we do? How can we make sure that people do not get hurt?

and speaking about poor jack russell terriers, another previous neighbor had 2, and everytime i took my 2 dobies for a walk and she let them out, they immediately attacked by dobies.... on one occasion the red dobe actually caught the thing in its mouth as it jumped at its head. (to the horror of the owner), i called my dog and he just soert of flipped it tp the side. never even leaving a mark.

i have to agree exactly with the last 2 commenters. i used to be horrified of pitbulls until i got my blue and brindle pits. i always owned other breeds. any responsible person will provide the necassary training guidance and most important with apbt's is socialization. if it had been my 2 pits that went into that poor ladies house, they would have licked her til she laughed out loud.One other thought about terriers , i was reading a book about raising pit bulls, (and yes a jack russell is a terrier, like pits,) my neighbor has 3 of them, and when i had my big doberman, everytime i took my dog for a walk, they were out like a bunch of steriod induced midget pits, going after my dog.... i saw one trying to bite the hooves off a horse once..... maybe they should ban all dogs

What is the problem here? Two dogs enter a ladys house and in an act of instinct maul her and the system pretty much immediately kills the dogs. Two humans with much greater thought capicity than any dog break into a ladys house and maul her and the system spends millions of taxpayer dollars defending their rights and keeping them alive for life unless some judge or parole board set sthem free first.
