I hate it when people blame the dogs, it's not their fault on how they were raised. If they had been raised properly they would not have this problem of them attacking people and other animals. People are to blame- if an animal is mistreated day after day, then when they get freedom they will eventually attack their abuser. Just like us as humans do. I personally have 3 shepherds that I have raised from pups and they have never had any kind of training- only love, plenty of food and nurishment and alot of companionship from our family. And I would trust them with my life.

Register the owners - not the dogs. Dogs act according to their treatment and training. If you see a "bad dog" you can be sure the animal has a "bad owner". A dysfunctional owner will cause an animal to be defensive and agressive. It should be a criminal offense to mistreat an animal and put the public at risk and jeopardize the life of the animal. If the owners have no respect for the community in which they live and society in general, there is no reason why we should feel we owe them any consideration or respect in any way.

Sorry Mlltny, pets just don't go nuts like that for no reason. Could even be a physical reason, but you can bet there is a reason.

I agree that its not the dogs, its the owners that are responible. I had a male rottie that was 160 lbs. When my son was born the 2 were inseparable. That dog never ever once seemed to be mean. We treated him like he was a part of the faimly. My son used to get on him and ride around the house and if anything would have triggered him to be mean it would have been when my son used to put his fingers in his mouth and pull on his flappers but that never happened becasue the dog was loved very much and treated very good. So I believe it stems from the owners when dogs attack and the owners should be held responsible. I don't like to hear that Rotties are dangerous dogs becasue its not true. I aslo believe that the smaller dogs are more prone to attack people than the bigger dogs. I've heard and seen that the smaller dogs are more prone to snap and attack other dogs and humans than the bigger dogs.

MLTNY...I have a few questions about your experience with your pittie. I am sorry you were hurt by the dog but...
Do you know where the dog came from?
Did y ou meet the parents of the pup?
Well was it a pup when you got it?
The reason I ask these questions is that like ANY breed of dog, you need to know the background of the dog. Parents, health, temperament, etc. There are too many out there that breed just for the money made on the pups. My pittie pup is 11 months old now and I had her spayed a 7 months. You should have heard the rants and raves I got for that decision. Rednose pit pups in my area go for $800-$1000 each. I had to question that as Rednose is breed standard so there The only dog I know of that was ever bred to be human aggressive is the Doberman and it was bred to hunt tax evaders in Germany. We all know that most failed miserably at being aggressive and these days those are not culled from the pack. Thank you God. They too are great dogs. ALL dogs must have

I made the decision because I do not litter and I may change that opinion the day I can walk into a shelter, pound, etc and there is not a dog sitting and waiting to die. Not one. I think that people forget these animals were tamed so they could be useful to us. The only

Look as the person owned by my APBT and Shep/Rott/Chow/Hound mix, I will say that the only dog to EVER inflict harm on me was a Toy Poodle and I ended up with 27 stitches. I have been removed from a injured area of a pitbull by his mouth. No damage done. The poodle was aggressive. I have worked with many different breeds of dogs and have never been bitten by any dog that people are attmepting to put into a "dangerous" breed catagory. The media ran with Dobermans in the 70's, and Rott's in the 80's. Sheps and Rotts, shared the evil spotlight for awhile and now the target is Pitbulls. I know this breed and they are not vicious dogs. They are not human aggressive. Many do have animal aggression and that is something a responsible owner will already be aware of. You must provide housing for any dog, and it must suit the animal and it's tendencies. Aussies/Shepherds herd, and will do so to the newest member of the family as they are learning how to walk. It is just an instinct t

African Americans make up about 12% of the US population, but according to this FBI report (2005) they are responsible for 32.7% of the rapes, 48.6% of the murders, and 56.3% of the robberies in this country.
They have turned every major city in this country into uninhabitable hell-holes with their guns and drugs.
Maybe if they stayed in school, got jobs, stopped having babies they are unable to support, and stopped acting like animals, they might earn some respect from civilized society.
Then again, maybe they are just incapable of it.
