There is NO WAY that 1 in 4 girls has an STD. That is impossible. Obviously the cities these studies are conducted have a lot of disease-ridden people, but that does NOT mean that 1 in 4 girls EVERYWHERE have them. Also, did you ever consider that the kinds of people willing to take these surveys may have a different personality than the kinds who do not, and therefore they could be the kind of people more likely to have a disease? I'm just saying, surveys are inaccurate, not to say that people should not be cautious and learn more about a person before they do sexual things with them. Regardless, this is just disgusting and disturbing.

As one would expect from our liberal-leaning media professionals, this story has not even a peep from those who promote abstinence education over "safe" sex. Gee, since the media offered no comment from the abstinence education camp, I guess the moral majority must be totally irrational with no statistical or scientific data to support it's approach to prevent unwanted pregnancy and the widespread effect of abortion that results from it. These reporters need to go back to journalism school and re-read the section on fair and balanced reporting. It's the only way to get close to the truth or the whole picture. And ironically, Planned Parenthood, who makes a killing on birth control and abortion "services" sales are the ones accusing the country of a "1.5 billion failure".

In my line of work that is on a psychiatric ward, it is even higher. As a psychologist, my professional and several others will argue that this is due to teens not using adequate protection. However, what they fail to tell teens is that "safe sex" with a condom is a sham as this device is not designed to ward off STD's. They are designed to provide protection for a pregnancy. In this instance, it is reported that 20% will fail to accomplish that intended purpose. So what makes one think that this device will successfully to any degree work preventing the transmission of a STD. Has anyone noticed, television is no longer advertising the usefulness of the condom for STD's? Why? As some of my teen clients would often say "DUH-UH!" They don't work!!!! How about abstinence and delayed gratification until marriage? Oh, yes! Marriage is not the in-thing. And monogamy is a stupid religious thing and you can't get around to as mamny beautiful men and women as you want!!! How a
