Some of the issues he once supported, but now is against: drilling moratorium, privatizing social security, abortions in cases of rape and incest, estate tax, storing spent nuclear fuel at Yucca Mountain in Neveda, normalization of relations with Cuba, engage in diplomacy with Hamas and Syria, his own lobbying reform legislation from 1997, Lieberman/Warner legislation to combat global warming, raising cigarette taxes to fund programs to cut underage smoking, balance the federal budget by the end of his first term, grassroots lobbying coalitions to reveal financial donors, Roe v. Wade, ending Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, campaign finance reform, etc. McCain aides says he has evoled not flip-floped.
