Notice the absolute inability of the truly despicable Associated Press, and AOL, to give "news" STRAIGHT. The headline is not ALLOWED (I am sure there is a memo somewhere, as there is a memo on not using the term "Islamic extremists" or "Muslim terrorists") to merely say that the economy GREW faster in the first quarter than originally estimated. The headline MUST contain "..but still subpar", and th estory MUST talk about how "fragile" the economy is.My brother is co-owner of a trucking compnay, and he confirms what is likely true: We are ON TRACK for continued, and better, GROWTH in the second half of this year. He can tell by freight levels.What can DERAIL this "recovery" (we have not gone into recession in the first place)? PANIC by Congress!!!! Foreclosure bail out measures, etc. can HURT the eoncomy (as well as the deficit), while SANE actions--such as merely ALLOWING more drilling for oil oofshore and in a SMALL part of the icy wilderness of ANWR--are bypasssed in favor of

Once again the AP carries the water for the "Big Liberal media" . We simply do not get the truth from the media anymore. We have not been in a recession. Our economy has continued to grow in spite of the full court press by the Democrats and their willing accomplices in the Big Media. While the Democrats and the media pretend that American economy is coming apart at the seems, the truth is that we are still growing. Once again , the Democrats, and their media buddies hope to benefit politically whenever our country suffers. This is why the Dems are promoting doom and gloom on an hourly basis. WHERE is this happening?? Here in FL people are struggling to pay anything. People are staying home and the malls are quiet. How this horrid economy is growing must only be because of Bush's war machine and its production. WHAT A JOKE!!The absurd stock market will probably go up as these dolts usually help it to. When the fall comes it will make the 2000 dot.com debacle look small in comparison. REMEMBER ENRON, folks!! GOOD LUCK!

The real stimulus to growth is replacing foreign oil with clean, renewable energy from things like algae, switchgrass and waste. Build these industries right here in the USA and see our exports increase while our imports decrease. This is called an improvement in the balance of trade. Interest rates, tax cuts for the wealthy, temporary tax cuts for gas, and long term drilling for oil are all counter productive over the long term without changing our dependence on the price of oil.
