- GirlGoneGrady: The only things that will be missed are Randy's dawgs and Paula's incoherent you-look-pretty-but-you-can't-really-sing-compliments.

Sandra (7:17 AM 6/5/2007): American Idol producers need to remember that a large part of their audience is over 40, an age group that can't stomach Brittnye Spears. That's apparent in that they book Tony Bennett, Lulu, Barry Gibb, Barry Manilow, etc. I don't think they'd be dumb enough to do this. If anything, a judge would be an older person like Olivia Newton John.

Belle (8:03 AM 6/5/2007): You cannot call Paula Abdul a 'judge' when all she does is parrot whatever Randy Jackson says. I have never heard her give one original or meaningful critique. If she sat in the first chair she would do nothing but stammer. I always cringe when it's her turn because her insipid comments are just a waste of time. Randy and Simon are at least coherent. PLEASE replace Paula with a judge who has a brain - NOT Britney Spears!

The only reason I enjoy the show is to know that it is an antidote to the talentless like Spears and Madonna, neither of whom can sing and whose only talent is marketing. If either of them appeared on a show like Idol years ago, they would have not made it past the alley.
Elliot Falk (7:14 AM 6/5/2007): It is a natural human tendency to embrace what we know first and I would suggest to those who claim that Idol is a lesser program now, that they even take a few moments to watch Idol Rewind. The show is far superior now in terms of talent, production values and to have major stars mentor these young singers was a brilliant idea, particularly the evening with legend Tony Bennett who gave them very specific feedback and taught them techniques that have helped his career span more decades than almost any popular singer of all-time.
See the repeats. Idol was kind of cheesy and the mediocre Kelly Clarkson won because the competition was meager. And if you think Sanjaya was bad, see the night that Carrie Underwood sang Hello Young Lovers from The King and I. Not only did she wear what looked like her grandma's carpet, but how silly a song choice. And her performance was pretty awful too. Folks, keep an open mind.

I would be distraught too if I had to keep those two around me. Why doesn't someone please intervein and get them some help? In addition, when you people write comments could you please try to look somewhat intelligent by using proper grammar and spelling. I know it's alot to ask, but please, your comments look ridiculous when you can't even form a sentence. And you want to talk about Britney!

Screw the journey referrence(they sucked after 1st 3 cds anyway) but this dude played for Roger Waters. If you are not an atheist thats like being Gods right hand man....sweet!!! rock on RJ.yeah, Simon rules the roost no doubt but the show still is lame after they get to hollywood.

American idol is a waste, it has run it's course, this years contestants were jokes,
so they are willing to try anything. don't believe the number of votes they say they receive.

Halfway through the show she will check herself into rehab, shave her head, and go completely nuts. Is this this what american idol wants. I have been watching this show from the beginning and I know if she is hired I am done. bye bye Idol.
Diane (7:58 AM 6/5/2007): AI ratings dropping? And they think it's because of the judges? Why don't they look at the real reasons, like they need a much better voting system that keep the real talent in and the loosers out. Lets take last year for example, how is last years winner Taylor Hicks doing? Not so good I hear. But wait, what about that guy Chris Daughtry? Check the charts guys, he is all over them, and has gone nearly triple platinum, if he hasn't already. And he was voted off in fourth place! They need to change the whole system. But, after Chris lost, I never voted again. And I am tired of the whole show now anyway

I am so tired of hearing Randy call people Dawg and Paula doesn't seem to know where she is half the time. Simon is the only one who "tells it like it is and he has improved on criticising contestant't looks and focusing on their talent.
