l.p.c.s. (12:11 PM 7/2/2007): Dear Lindsey,
You have more innate intelligence than most of your peers. Seek out good company.
Also, understand when you grow up within the warped fish bowl of celebrity it is more challenging than normal to find a balanced sense of ego.
The danger is failing to understand that your image is a commodity that you and other people make money on, it isn't you.
The danger is when you actually buy into your own press and view your self as larger than life; that will make you out of touch with reality and leave a gaping hole where people can play ego games with you. As long as they can keep your ego inflated, they will keep you off balance.
The danger is when you develop a hunger for the limelight, in and of itself, and that becomes more important to you than having the opportunity to be creative. That hunger is nothing other than a vacuous ego in search of food that is like cotton candy without nourishment, and it will be your undoing.
Get a grip and seek council from older and mature people.
Understand that mature and wise people manage celebrity as though it were bitter medicine: just a little and only when necessary to promote something you have been fortunate enough to do, something from your heart that you love to do.
Please don't waste your opportunity.
ANDREA (1:18 PM 7/2/2007): HAPPY BIRTHDAY LILO! GOOD LUCK WITH THE RECOVERY PROCESS AND REMEMBER YOU CAN DO WHAT EVER YOU PUT YOUR MIND TOO.
