Ron (9:38 AM 7/17/2007): Bob Crane from Hogan's Heroes would be perfect for the Price is Right.
Doug (9:41 AM 7/17/2007): IMO, O'Hurley wouldn't make it, Bergeron is slightly irritating, Drew ( as much as I like him) wouldn't make it. An ideal character that would have made it fun, and joke is deceased (Ray Combs, former Family Feud). We need a person, man or woman, that isn't abrasive, and has a good image. Race shouldn't play a role in getting a new person up there eh? Any ideas people?
Clay Bradley (10:18 AM 7/17/2007): This show has been in the 18th century long enough. Either Drew or Rosie would be great! If the geezers can't handle it, they can watch Lawrence Welk reruns!
Kerrie (10:19 AM 7/17/2007): Life goes on, and so does TPIR.
Drew Carey will be great!
DONNA (10:32 AM 7/17/2007): NOBODY WILL EVER REPLACE BOB BARKER. I WATCHED HIM ON TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES AND THEN ON THE PRICE IS RIGHT. I WILL STOP WATCHING THE PRICE IS RIGHT WHEN BOB RETIRES. I HOPE AND PRAY HE HAS A HEALTHY AND HAPPY RETIREMENT, I WILL MISS HIM VERY MUCH. THANKS FOR THE LAUGHS BOB. DONNA
angela (11:23 AM 7/17/2007): i personally think al roecker i believe thats his last name from good morning america would be perfect for this job.
astrolee (12:40 PM 7/17/2007): Please not Drew Carey he has no style or anything keep him in Ohio or wher ever. I can't stand to look at him.
KayDee (2:09 PM 7/17/2007): I think it needs to be someone who has lifelong appeal and sophistication. Not a comedian. Someone to carry on a legacy, a young Regis Philbin or Pat Sajak-type...Carson Daly or other ex-MTV-VJ with maturity, or even some unknown with great personality...All of those that have been named in the media so far, just aren't right for the job.
Jared (2:52 PM 7/17/2007): Drew Carey is a douche.
Audrey K (3:56 PM 7/17/2007): yo-Ron, Bob Crane has been DEAD FOR YEARS!!!
texan (4:09 PM 7/17/2007): There is a wonderfully handsome, very personable, Latino man who hosts the Price is Right in Spanish (on Telemundo or some other Spanish speaking network) that I think would be an ideal host to replace Bob instead of Drew Carey - the Latino man does speak English and I think he'd be a welcome site to watch. Plus, the network should also consider incorporating male "beauties" along with Barker's "beauties!"
Price is Rigth Fan (English AND Spanish!)
Bud (6:35 PM 7/17/2007): Carey.. Never.. will lose a viewer after all these many years. Mario, Jeff or anyone of their calibar..Defininately not the Rose!
christine (8:08 PM 7/17/2007): how about chuck woooley he has been on game shows and is still hostong linjgo
liz (8:08 PM 7/17/2007): I think that John O'Hurley would be perfect! I love him. He is very easy on the eyes, funny and sharp. It is what is needed. He is a young Bob Barker. Please NO DREW and for pete's sake...NO ROSE!
Wendy (8:09 PM 7/17/2007): Ok, that's it!!! I've had it with all you judgemental people out there. Bob Barker did the show for a long time. He's hanging up the hat, and passing the mic to someone else. Rosie would be good, Drew would be good, hell anyone at this point would be good. Besides, who's to say that they wouldn't start off crappy and make it funny later?? It's not going to be easy getting used to a new face on the show, but damnit people, give someone a chance to prove their worth before throwing stones!!!!!
katya (8:11 PM 7/17/2007): Drew's pretty funny, but the loss of Bob Barker's old time charm will never be replaced. I do wish they would look a little harder for some class, though.
imabasketchick (8:13 PM 7/17/2007): Just when I thought the suggested new host couldn't be any worse than Rosie and they suggest this clown. Both would be a reason to stop watching The Price is Right.
I'm holding out for Doug Davidson from The Young and the Restless or Jeff Probst from Survivor. Davidson has stood in for Bob Barker several times; he's handsome, charismatic, tapes right next door at Y & R, and is already liked by a CBS audience. I've also heard Probst express his growing wish to not be as tied down as what hosting Survivor requires. He'd be perfect! He's handsome, funny, easily relates well to people, and again, already liked by a CBS audience. What a gig!
James (8:14 PM 7/17/2007): I am not ready to think it's THAT etched in stone, but it does fit the Fremantle "when in doubt, get a comedian" philosophy (look at Family Feud's lineage since 1999!)
Todd Newton would be all right, I did rather like the TPIR stage show in Vegas.
If only Dennis James were still alive, or Tom Kennedy not retired. They did good on their nighttime versions of Price.
KMF (8:16 PM 7/17/2007): NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! If they pick anyone it should be George Hamilton! We need a silver fox for TPiR! Bob was the best!! I'd rather see the show end than see half the choices in the lead as host. Ugh, I won't be watching come the next season.
Camelface (8:17 PM 7/17/2007): Yeah ..nice pic here.. Classy dude, lol .
