According to the New York Daily News (last item, side dish), CBS has all but offered Bob Barker's old microphone to Drew Carey. All Carey has to do is audition for the hosting gig on the Price Is Right.

Sue Sattler (8:17 PM 7/17/2007): I will not watch the show if Rosie or Drew are the hosts. I agree with most that you need someone who can carry the show, we don't need the humor, it is not a comedy show. How about Chuck Woolery, John O'Hurley, or Tom Burgeron.

Mary (8:27 PM 7/17/2007): How can anytone even contemplate replacing a well-dressed, good looking, fun loving total gentleman like Bob Barker with a raucous fat slob like Drew Carey? If Carey or Rosie - another super slob with a sewer for a mouth get this gig my prediction is this show will be OFF THE AIR in less than a year!Reduced ratings (from we ALL ain't gonna watch slapstick slobs)will cause loss of sponsors - and that will be that! John O'Hurley comes as close as you can get to the Barker style without replicating Bob. GET REAL TV MOGULS! PICK A HOST WITH CLASS!

Elaine Williams (8:32 PM 7/17/2007): What they should do is make a list of people they would consider for the job, have each one tape a week's worth of shows. Then they could have the viewers vote on who they would like to see become the permanent host AFTER they had had a chance to see all the candidates in action.
I think you never know how a person will do in a job until they are given a chance to perform. I don't think Rosie would be a good fit because she is way too controversial and abrasive> Drew or Wayne Brady might be good...Bergeron might be okay but he is contracted to ABC with AFHV and Dancing with the Stars.
You can't replace Bob Barker...he is one of a kind. Let someone else have a chance to make the show their own...or just cancel it.
Nina (8:32 PM 7/17/2007): Isn't there anyone in show business with the same class, charm, charisma and good looks similar to Bob Barker. He is what made the show a success. Rosie, Drew, Howie and some of the others mentioned definitely fail in those categories.
Jan (8:35 PM 7/17/2007): Please NO. I've seen his face on tv too much now. Get someone with some charm, class and charisma like Bob Barker. He was funny without trying to be. Don't change the show either. We have way too many same old, same old shows on tv. Rosie needs to drop out of the public eye once and for all..
Denise Rumage (8:35 PM 7/17/2007): I cannot believe they would even consider this guy. What I would like to know is why they are not considering Ricki Lake who hosted that game show special. She did a great job and I think she would do better than anyone I have seen so far that they are thinking of!!! But Drew Carey, NO WAY, I will not watch, I can't stand the guy. That would be the end of the great game show and I would believe Bob Barker is probably sick at the idea himself!!!
