Kerri Strug landed into history -- even with a leg injury. The gymnast was hurt during a vault routine during the Atlanta Olympics, but went on to perform to help the Americans capture gold in the team competition. Remember which year 20 hockey players created a surge of patriotism? It was perhaps the biggest upset in sports history when the U.S. came out of nowhere to win the gold medal over the Soviets. An influential senator has suggested that returning to a 55-MPH national speed limit might be the answer to saving gasoline and possibly easing fuel prices. Sen. John Warner, R-Va., asked Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman to look into what speed limit would provide optimum gasoline efficiency given current technology. He said he wants to know if the administration might support efforts in Congress to require a lower speed limit.
