Late replacement Seth Petruzelli stopped hyped heavyweight Kimbo Slice in just 14 seconds Saturday night, handing the former street fighter his first mixed martial arts loss. Petruzelli, 28, had been slated to fight on the undercard against Aaron Rosa at the Bank Atlantic Center. But he was bumped up to the heavyweight main event of the EliteXC 'CBS Saturday Night Fights' card when the athletic commission sidelined Ken Shamrock.

Team Mourns Murdered Captain

Norman Griffith wished with all his heart this would be like the dozens of times before he sat with family in the stands, awaiting Norman Jr. and his Pahokee High teammates to joyously take the field. A sign by Pahokee's sideline, "This One Is For Pooh #7" and the father's flowing tears reminded him football games would never be the same for the Griffith family. Norman Griffith Jr., a tight end and linebacker had been discovered in Belle Glade, Fla., earlier in the week with a gunshot wound to the head.

Ex-Football Star Sentenced to Jail

Former football star Lawrence Phillips was sentenced Friday to 10 years in prison, two years after he was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon. The former Nebraska running back, 33, has been jailed since August 2005, when he drove onto a field near Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and his car struck three boys, ages 14 and 15, and a 19-year-old man, who suffered cuts and bruises.

Documents confirm all six members of China's gold medal team at the Beijing Games were old enough to compete, the International Gymnastics Federation said. But it wants more answers from two members of China's 2000 squad. AOL Sports has more on the pair who the foundation wants to question further.
