Thousands Prepare for the Apocalypse

Survival groups around the world are gearing up and counting down to a doomsday date that has been anticipated for thousands of years. "You have to understand, there will be nothing, nothing left," Patrick Geryl told ABC News. "We will have to start an entire civilization from scratch." NASA Photos Solve 30-Year Mystery

A NASA spacecraft's first flyby of Mercury has yielded a wealth of information about the inner-most planet, some of which settles a longstanding debate. "This was really like a smoking gun," said James Head of Brown University and a member of the science team behind the mission.

Second, it's home to the world's tallest toboggan waterslide, which sends riders through 600-foot flumes at speeds up to 35 mph. If speed alone isn't enough, the park offers rides through the 500-foot-long Dark Hole and 600-foot-long Neptune's Fury -- both completely in the dark.
