01:35 am she was brutally killed — her body burned and buried out on the mesa near rio rancho. 20 year old brittni carlini was reported missing by her family on friday ... tonight police say a friend has confessed to her murder. valerie castro is live in the newsroom with the details in our top story. valerie? 19 year old ryan minute thumbnail 01:36 am vigil and 19 year old christopher midyette are facing open counts of murder for the death of 20 year old brittni carlini. the teens were arrested after police say vigil told them about the murder. according to police, vigil says carlini came to his home late thursday to pick up a snowboard when there was some sort of argument and carlini decided to leave. that’s when vigil says his friend chris midyette hit carlini in the back of the head with a baseball bat -- a blow that police say most likely killed her. then police say vigil told them how they got rid of the body. "they took brittni, they put her in the back of the vehicle, they took her to an undisclosed location in rio rancho, dug a hole for her, placed her body in the whole and they burned her body ." police say vigil's stepfather had heard about carlini's disappearance, and alerted officers after finding blood in vigil's car. vigil and midyette are each being held on 300 thousand dollar bonds. minute thumbnail 01:37 am live in the newsroom..vc
