A 52-year-old man complained only about the cold weather before walking into a diner with a five-inch knife sticking out of his chest. The unnamed man called a Warren 911 operator on Sunday night to ask that an ambulance be sent to Bray's, an eatery in neighboring Hazel Park. He said he had been stabbed during a robbery attempt half a mile away, then walked to the restaurant and called 911 from a pay phone. Read More
Authorities are considering whether to charge a woman accused of grabbing a man by the genitals and yanking hard enough for him to need stitches. Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams told the Winona Daily News the 54-year-old woman faces possible charges of domestic assault, third-degree assault and interfering with a 911 call. Read More
Police picked up two naked men on a late night bike ride in a New Zealand town but let them off with a warning: put on helmets. "They were wanting to experience total freedom," said Senior Constable Cathy Duder, who stopped the pair about 10 p.m. on a recent night in the beach resort town of Whangamata. A Miami man was jailed in Tennessee after allegedly taking a $3,000 taxi ride there and refusing to pay the fare. Memphis police arrested the man after the 1,600-mile drive on a charge of theft over $1,000. The man allegedly told Flamingo Taxis driver Lelis Almeira the woman he was visiting would pay when they arrived. Read More
Police arrested a 19-year-old woman on charges that she yanked the beard from a man portraying Santa Claus outside Conseco Fieldhouse before an Indiana Pacers game. Indianapolis police said officers watching the crowd Monday night saw the woman take a photo of the Santa Claus, then rip off his beard. The man told officers the beard had been firmly attached to his face. Read More
Police say a frustrated Boston woman called 911 to say she couldn't get her 14-year-old son to stop playing video games and go to sleep. Police spokesman Officer Joe Zanoli said Monday the mother called for help around 2:30 a.m. Saturday to say that the teenager also walked around the house and turned on all the lights. Read More
Wash day became payday at an Ohio coin laundry that was visited by a mystery couple playing Santa by handing out $100 bills. Employees at the Spin City Laundromat in Dayton said the man and women walked in Sunday, both dressed conservatively in black. Without saying anything, they gave eight customers and two workers $100 each, inside Christmas cards that read, "Happy holidays and many happy days to follow. Jesus loves you!" Read More
