Suspects arrested in case

Authorities raid a Mexico City factory hidden inside a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center and rescue scores of people who had been forced to work 16-hour days under poor conditions. Some of the victims had been sexually abused, police say. Twenty-three people are charged with human trafficking in connection with the case.

NATO: Afghanistan to Get 7,000 Troops

A top NATO official says that dozens of countries will send an estimated 7,000 more troops to Afghanistan next year, "with more to come." The announcement came right before Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton told her NATO counterparts that new soldiers could turn the tide in a conflict her boss is hoping to soon wind down.

Canada is one of the United States' most trusted allies, but newly released Pentagon e-mails suggest that a few years ago, U.S. officials had doubts. The notes are related to 2006 warnings that some Canadian coins had been fitted with radio transmitters and could be used for espionage.
